How many Buckeye Fans have been to New Orleans

Odd Mix?

Been there many times over the years, most recently during the clean up two years back.

I have a love hate relationship with the town. It can be beautiful and has a wonderful unique history, but it can also be filthy, corrupt and crime ridden.

It's an odd mix of the best and absolute worst at the same time...

Hey, same can be said for my Chicago!

Seriously...

Anyhow, been down to NOLA many times on business. Always enjoyed the town.

My favs: The Palace Cafe & The Napoleon House for dinner.

I went for the 1998 and 1999 Sugar Bowls, then took a year off, and went back with friends for New Years.

I took another year off, and went back with friends for New Years again, promptly flew out to Tempe, and saw the Bucks beat Miami in double OT.

I love New Orleans. I wish the national title game was set on January 1st. There is something to be said for a large amount of people who have all come to drink some adult beverages and have a good time. Oh, and breasts.

p.s. For first time visitors: find Central Grocery in the French Quarter for the original Muffeletta -- and I think it's a requirement to wash it down with root beer.

Sweet Home Chicago...

Even Cabrini doesn't touch the Lower 9th.

? and especially since gentrification of the area.

Was a real trip taking my Ohio born and educated wife on a bike ride that included a little stroll through "The Green." Suffice it to say, I'm pretty sure that her Catholic Schoolgirl ears had never heard the like before.

I had a buddy in the 'Corps who grew up in one of the whites. A few of us had a chance to visit his mom's place when we met up to head back to Pendleton after taking leave when we got back from Saudi.

It was quite an experience.

I was there for the '98 Sugar Bowl. Didn't get to explore too much, just saw the French Quarter for the most part. Food was great, game was not. :(

I remember that game. My grandpa won tickets from Kroger or something, so my stepdad and I flew down that day and back the same day. Disappointing. The city seemed ok, though.
