Well, the litter isn't so bad. You get to throw clump of litter all over the bathroom, but blame it on your feline instincts. Then I get to watch Ms. Katt clean it up.

Speaking of Mrs. Katt, if I don't get home to her soon, she's going to have me neutered. I guess you could probably say that I'm pussy-whipped.

There are so many reasons why i'm gonna give you rubies after that I won't begin :slappy:

Why did none of the people with like 33 dollars (like me, I had 103) start threads when they woke up to the 500 saying "is bpCash broken? Why do I have more money ?" :)

Everyone now has what they did before the conversion. We changed backends for handling money, to support some upcoming features. During the conversion, everyone had 500 which was the default starting value. That was never permanent, as the consensus from another thread on the subject before the move was that we would maintain existing balances.

If someone feels they genuinely 'lost' money, meaning what you had in the weeks leading up to the version change is not what it is now, then let me know. But what you had on 8/31-9/1 doesn't count.

The only other editing was a query that ran giving everyone who registered after a certain date, but before another, an extra 500 vBucks. This is because when I first installed vB, we started everyone with a 1000. But then something in the system gave new registrants 500, and we've been back up to 1000 since the transition. So anyone who was shorted 500 last season got it yesterday.

I'm *considering* giving anyone with less than 250, a 250 starting point for the season. But first I'm watching the various forms of bpCash drip, to see if that will be sufficient instead.

K.. just for kicks... what is going on with the cents in the vcash...
mine goes up and down constantly... if we have 5001 members and one of the evil mods siphons 29 cents per member... he'd have an addl $1500 (really $1450.29 altho ya can't take anything from B27 - he's vBankrupt)... so the evil mod would be vRich... and how did we get cents in the first place??? I don't recall making a wager for $216.47 ???

...

If we're gonna index it... can we tie it to gas prices??

You're getting fractions of bpPennies based on things that go on around the site. How many different people read threads you start. How often you post, with different weight given to different forums. Someone earns faster posting in the general football or basketball forum than they do, say, in Open Discussion. These all add up over time.

The main goal here was to offer a drip by which the more active someone is, the more they have to play with. Obviously that will be more meaningful once there are features beyond bpBook that offer services that require bpCash.

One of the future 'horizon' projects I have in mind is a bpMarket, where users can invest in recruits, players, even games. Or invest in other users if you believe in their vision.

But the 'soon' things are stuff I described before. Being able to trade for little features and services, stealing, etc.

Yeah, I'm going to have to look at the values I set. And to think I'm already using hundredth or thousandth of a cent in some cases already. May just divide everything by 10. (note to self - is thousandth really the plural of thousandth? must be, seems odd. how many times do you type thousandth before it just looks like a nonsensical jumble of letters? 4.)

Will turn it down tomorrow. In the meantime, not the end of the world that people are getting a little extra mad money as the season starts. Don't spend it all in one place.

Or, well do, rather, since there's still only one place to spend it. :)
