At home, I go for medium rare or rare depending on the cut of the meat but it has to be warm all the way through, I can't do cold in the middle. I like the hot blood for my potatoes, as someone else mentioned earlier in the thread. I totally grossed out the hubby the first few times we made steak at home by drinking the rest of the blood on my plate after I had finished the steak and potatoes.

One night for supper they had a choice of chicken, fish, or steak tartar. I told my wife "Let's order the steak tartar and if we don't like the tartar sauce we can just scrape it off". Big mistake!!!
