How do you guys get over a loss?

I was shocked/pissed/sad on Saturday night and hardly slept. I kept replaying the worst portions of the game over in my head - with the same end result every time. :(

Sunday, I woke up and tried to read the paper. Then my wife, and I took our dog on a 7 mile hike in the mountains. For 'cleansing' experiece afterwards, we took a swim in the Poudre River on our way back into town - it was so cool and refreshing, I started to feel normal again.

I think I was so upset by this loss because I had eagerly anticipated the game for years. The hype all summer fueled that anticipation and with it being in Ohio Stadium, I was positive we would come out on top. But alas, the VY hype is deserved. They were the better team on Saturday. But on the bright side, it didn't ruin our season. We've got a conference championshio to win.

I look forward to November 19th. That, my friends, is the only game that REALLY matters. I'd take 1-10 this year as long as the win was a stomp of scUM.

Both teams played hard Saturday and either could've won or lost it. No shame in that, folks. On a much smaller scale, but personally important, I lost a rugby match 8-3 on Saturday afternoon. The team that beat us scored the game's only try (rugby touchdown) in the final minute. The other 78 minutes were all defense, heart and field possession by both teams. I don't feel at all bad about that. I'm no more sore because we lost and I didn't spare any effort that would've given us the win. Both the Bucks game and my match were what sport is supposed to be about. If tOSU plays with that kind of heart the rest of the year, we win the Big Ten and a BCS game. That's pretty goddamn good by any standard.

Finally, if you have the temerity to seriously second-guess or run down JT, you are an outright ass clown. Please turn in your scarlet and gray and go join the bandwagon scUM, USC, or scUM South fans. There is no one who is a better coach for The Ohio State University than JT. You may argue that there are better coaches. That point is debatable, but there is no better coach for us.

I had a phsycopathic neighbor last year who would get really worked up over Bucks games. Saturday night after the game I was talking to one of my buddies and we were both thinking the same thing. Gee I hope the nutjobs wife is going to be ok. Thankfully he only lived in our neighborhood for just over a year.

Alcohol, self mutilation, Kick the cat, dress up as Wonder Woman and go to Easton Mall with a la.....

I think I've said too much.

The hard part was Bobby gave me a Garcia Vega at the game as our victory dance as usual, and its sitting on my coffee table still in it's tube.

I have to wait til after we smoke SDSU to smoke the cigar...

I loved the story about that guy. Didn't he go up to his room and cry? Classic.

What hawg you don't think that firing the OC is the best option. I mean I was thiunk disbanding the school might be a logical step....:)
I think KHole needs to fire JT right away and hire Urban Meyer so that we can have a sexy offense. Yep that sounds about right. :p

Yeah, they had a big party with all the neighbors invited to get to know them, and he disappeared for the whole second half when we started getting our asses kicked. Total nut job.

They just moved out about a month ago, but I had not talked to him for months after an unfortunate "Promise Keepers" incident that left him not on speaking terms with me any more. My guess is they do not stay long where ever they go.

Garcia Vega? Dude....a victory over Texas would have been worth much more than a cheap machine-made cigar. I had a 5 Vegas Churchill ready to go if we won. But a victory of this magnitude might have been worth going a little higher-grade, like maybe a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 or something like that.

San Diego State might be a good time for the Garcia Vega. But I will probably go with an Outdoorsman's Reserve.

I'm usually almost completely over a loss just before the next game. Losing to Texas isn't so bad, though, since they appear to be a great team.

If Texas goes on to play for (and hopefully win) the national championship, and Young wins the Heisman, I think I'll be over this loss.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not depressed to where I can't think or eat or sleep. But thinking about the game still angers me. I keep going through the "If only's". And again, it was #2 Texas. Not #102 Poop Pile State. It was a close game with a great team.
