Why can't parents accept the fact we don't want kids at this point in our lives???????

I'm right there with you. I haven't even been married for two months yet and the mother-in-law is already bugging us for children. I am especially getting tired of the line that my wife is 30 and needs to have them soon before it is too late. I keep telling her we are going to wait 2-3 years because I'm going to be going back to school in August and don't want to be doing part-time work, full-time school, and full-time parenting at the same freaking time. The mother-in-law simply responds, but I want more grandchildren.

Thank goodness my mom reassures the wife that she still has plenty of time. My mom had my younger brother and sisters in her early and mid-30s so she can speak from real experience.

Just wait till a sibling gets pregnant... that will shut them the hell up right now.

Since my unmarried sister got pregnant with a guy she isn't even dating, I have not heard a single comment about when I want to have kids.

With us, it's her brothers and their wives, one in particular. My wife is the youngest of four, with three older brothers, the youngest 12 years older than she. They think because they're running themselves to death with their kids that everyone else needs to as well.

Parents and friends actually... many friends have started their familys and want us to have kids so the kids will grow up together.

I tell them I'll use them as gunnie pigs and what works I'll use, and what doesn't will not make the gbear parenting guide :tongue2:
