Last nights game against the Bobcast was scary, but the Cavs were able to pull it out. Last year they wouldn't have been able to make a run on a night they were off. The next 6 games out west will show how good they really are. They need to go at least 500.

if they can manage .500 on this west coast swing, i would be more than thrilled.
the more varejo and pavlovic develop, the more dangerous this team becomes. One of their biggest problems early in the season was their bench. when lebron and Z went out they had no offense. It looks like Silas has found the right mixture of veterans and young guys to get it done.

3-3 would be great for that road trip. East teams always have a tough time out there no matter who they play. The Seattle and Sacramento games are the second games of back to back nights and those are tough buildings to win in anyway, so I'll count those among the losses. Utah, Portland and Golden State don't play very well at home, but the Cavs also seem to lay an egg to a bad team at least once every road trip(Bulls), so I'll say they lose one of these 3. So, that leaves us with tomorrow nights game as the difference in the road trip. Needless to say, Kobe the gun will be fired up for this game. He knows the big man's coming to town and he'll want to show everyone that he's as good an all around player as LBJ, if not better. The bottom line is LBJ does make all the players around him better. L.A plays in Utah tonight so they may be a little tired. If the Cavs can play good defense and not turn the ball over, they can win the game. It may be worth while to stay up and watch this one tomorrow night on TNT.

Last nite was a little rough, the Cavs just let down after the Bryant injury, but all is not lost. Hopefully they can pull out at least 3 of the next 5.

And the loss to the Bulls is beginning to not look so bad. The Bulls are the second hottest team in the East right now. If the other Paxson can keep that team together they have a bright future. It's nice to see a lot of the future being bright in the East. The balance of power will shift back before we know it.

Who came up with this scedule? The Cavs have a 9 game stretch against teams that are playing well. The next 5 are going to be huge. They need to win at least 2 or 3 just to keep their heads up. Any chance Shaq will be out through this coming Sunday?

Speaking of people dunking on Eddie Jones, he will be on Steve Francis' next poster after last night. Sickest dunk I have seen this year. I didn't see SportsCenter this morning, but I am sure that dunk was featured at some point.

I love watching this team, but they just aren't built to win a title. Granted, no one expects that out of them this year. Z and Drew are not enough of a frontcourt to get through the playoffs. Both are decent offensive players, but neither scare anyone when they are playing defense in the paint. If you are going to have a center like Z, then you better have an enforcer at PF, and Gooden isn't. I think they need to add some muscle down low, especially at the PF spot. Drew is a great ballplayer, but he is probably better served to either play the 3 or come off the bench. If they can get a serious PF during the off-season and also improve the outside shooting out of their backcourt, then they will be in good shape to make a run at a title.

tonight (Wednesday), the shooting guard spot contributed 5 points !!!... you will not see Round 2 in the playoffs when your #2 guard is underperforming like this...

only thing worse is when the bench has been outscored something like 300-10 in the last 5 games...

I fear we'll be destroyed in the playoffs where the refs make no calls (altho the Cavs are getting used to that already)... opponents will beat the shit out of LeBron and Z... they'll triple team LBJ, double team Z... and let everyone else shoot...

They lost to the Spurs on a last second shot by Duncan, but I see what you mean. This stretch of the schedule is brutal and it isn't going to get easier with Philly and Miami. After last night I would love to see Ray Allen in the wine and gold next year more than Redd. The only bright spot was that Lebron was 5/5 on his 3's.
