Clearly you did not get to take advantage of itAhhh yes, the broad based prosperity of the New Deal which spread the wealth, built the middle class and allowed them their little slice of suburban heaven. Glad to see you've come around to appreciate it.

It's like asphalt... except it's green... and you shouldn't drive on it any more that absolutely necessary... and it growsWhat's a lawn?
And there’s all this care you have to do...It's like asphalt... except it's green... and you shouldn't drive on it any more that absolutely necessary... and it grows
Scott's Oxalis creeping Charlie product works good for me.I’ve got a couple of places that have some moss problems as well. I went scorched earth on it a couple of years ago with Roundup. I’d be careful with raking. It may work, but I’m inclined to think that it will spread.
And talking about spreading... Where I’m at in the burbs we have issues with wild violets. Those fuckers are a bitch. Nothing off the shelf works on that. I’ve only found two things that work. One is to take a letter opener and dig them out deep by the root and the other is a concoction of chemicals that I’ve found mixed with dawn dish detergent to break down the outside of the plant... it’s really waxy.
If you have violets or creeping Susan / Jenny or the like, let me know, I’ll dig out the names of the chemicals I use. Lucky thing, those chemicals do not damage grass so I can be pretty aggressive with it.
Must not have been Mexican.I had 15 yards of top soil brought in last year after our patio was done to build up the yard around the patio and grade it out but I was not exactly thrilled with the guys who spread it in the backyard and how it turned out so I just had another 8 yards dumped on a tarp in my driveway yesterday and I am now trucking it into the backyard and spreading it myself. I have some low areas on one side along the fence and in the middle of the yard so need to build up those two areas so the water naturally runs off into the drives on each side of my yard. Pretty pissed because I did not want to have to do this myself but you know the saying if you want it done right do it yourself I guess.

You slope toward the foundation? Have erosion issues? Not exactly a lawn care issue, but does anyone have any recommendations for someone who can fix the negative grade I have on the south side of my house? I'd like to not have my basement fall in.
Yeah, I haven't necessarily seen any erosion, but I do know my basement wall is being pushed in from the middle and was told by the guy who's gonna fix that that I'll be best served to fix my grade as that is the cause of the problem. You slope toward the foundation? Have erosion issues?
