I am eagerly awaiting
Kick-Ass. Kick-Ass is a movie based off the comic book of the same name, however it's a different type of "comic book" movie -- not the en vogue Marvel/DC mutant superhero stuff everybody else is doing, though Kick-Ass is a new Marvel comic.
For those that haven't heard of it, Kick-Ass (the comic) is a "real world" comic about a lonely, high school loser that wonders why nobody has ever put on tights and tried to be a real-life superhero. After all, there's plenty of loonies out there in the world, have none of them ever put on a Halloween Spider-Man costume and tried fighting crime? So, he decides to order a wet-suit off of eBay and become a crime fighter. His first foray into prowling the streets at night involves happening on some kids spray painting graffiti on a wall. The hero promptly gets his ass kicked, is stabbed, then hit by a car while stumbling away.
The comic is quite funny, with a lot of modern references, such as his later, more successful exploits being caught on cell phones, posted to YouTube, and people contacting him for help via his MySpace page.
Kick-Ass is being directed by Matthew Vaughn, the producer behind Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
