oregon fans are NOT very happy at all... many seem quite furious about missing the bcs (and I wouldn't be real happy as a UO fan left with OU as the fallback plan... they limped thru 2004).

Who knows if it will have the same effect, but at least the fans seemed unhappy about the bowl placement (I'm sure they will still support their team well tho).

yea all the oregon fans ive seen have been infuriated and real pissed off. i dont believe it will carry over into this game as a negative thing but i still think the sooners will win. i think they will play a more physical game and peterson will be healthy and bomar will do just enough to keep the passing game honest enough. clemens is out for oregon but dixon has proved to be more than resourceful as a 2 dimensional player but i think he will be kept in check enough for the wooners to pull it out. i was undecided on this game until i thought about the added time peterson would get to get healthy and that swayed my vote enough.

I'm an Oregon fan and I'm not pissed off but that's because my beloved Buckeyes will have a chance to beat those annoying golden domers. Even if Oregon fans are pissed off I don't think the actual Oregon players are. They're just happy to be in a bowl after missing one last year. Oregon has a lot to play for. They're playing for a final top 5 ranking, to tie the school's best record ever, to prove doubters wrong, and a high preseason ranking for next year. They might finish 2nd in the Pac-10 again next year and who knows, maybe win the conference title. I think they're a team on the rise and will be a regular top 25 team for years to come.

I agree it may not carry over to the players.

Oregon finished #2 in the nation in 2001, but I agree there is much to play for this year.

Did I hear something about Oregon's QB being hurt?

Old news bro. Kellen Clemens broke his ankle in the Arizona game. He was the 3rd best quarterback in the nation but he, like the Ducks, was flying under the radar.
looking at the stats, without him they narrowly beat a 4-loss cal team and a 7-loss WSU team... and then manhandled a 6-loss OrSt team.

seems like the ducks could be in trouble without mr clemens, or will he be back?
haha yea klemens got hurt way back and dixon stepped in. dixon has proved to be a very good backup though so far.
good intel... were the games that close due to poor defense rather than a letdown at the QB position? I'm moreso looking for info here rather than trying to put down the ducks, who I know little about.

Looks similar to last year's Holiday Bowl (if I remember correctly). Last year it was Cal thinking they should be in a BCS bowl, but going to the Holiday Bowl to get crapped on by I believe TTech. I know Oklahoma is pretty bad this year, but I think Oregon had better be ready.

People, Oregon isn't Cal. They will show up in the Holiday bowl ready to play. This team has never won a bowl game and I'm sure they want to. If Oregon loses it will be because they couldn't keep Adrian Peterson somewhat contained(they're not going to keep him under a 100 yards is my bet).

I agree with 789 on this one...

Cal was pouting. Oregon is pissed. They seem like they have a chip on their shoulder. We'll see if they bring it to San Diego. My guess is they will.

Also recall that there were several people in this forum that analyzed the strength of the conferences in numerous different ways; and the Pac10, like it or not, was superior to the Big12 by every conceivable measure.

I don't expect a beat down, as Oklahoma seems to have it together right now; but I do expect Oregon to cover.

For one moment I agree and actually like something Keith Jackson has said. They were talking about Oregon's uni's and the sideline reporter(can't remember his name) was talking about this and that.

Sideline guy: You gotta love Oregon's uniforms.

Keith's response: Why?
