Holiday Bowl: Oregon 42, Okla St 31 (Final)

Here are Oklahoma State's 9 wins this year:

Wash St.
Houston
Mo St
Troy
aTm
Mizzou
Baylor
Iowa St
Colorado

Are any of those any good, besides Missouri? And Mizzou is barely in the top 20.

As oppossed to:
Youngstown State
Ohio U.
Purdue
Kent State
Wisconsin
Northwesern
Illinois
Michigan

Michigan State? They lost to Cal. Even Michigan beat Wisconsin. Ohio U and Kent were medicore in a mediocre conference.

I'll give you that the Big 10 has gotten the sticky part of the lollipop in the bowl lineups, but it's been a lean year and until the conference begins to win some games it ain't going to get beter.

More evidence of the quality of Big XII defenses?

I've been having this discussion with a buddy of mine, and we came to the same conclusion: the Big XII had no major OOC games this year. They played some teams that were far less good than expected (West Virginia and Illinois come to mind). The entire conference reputation has been built on incestuous circles of one loss teams. I'm not sure that any of these teams are as good as advertised.

Can we please just have a playoff or, at worst, some requirement for an actual OOC schedule?

Bowl teams Okla. St. has beaten this year: Houston, Troy, Mizzou.
Bowl teams Ohio St. has beaten this year: Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan St., Troy, Minnesota.

Ohio St. beat two more bowl teams and actually beat a team playing in a New Year's Day bowl game. Not much comparison between the two resumes, IMO.

At least Ohio St. beat a team playing in a New Year's Day bowl game.

You can add Troy to OSU's list as well. :)

Troy.

I've been given new hope watching these Big 12 'defenses'. Masoli was literally running by defenders that were standing still, looking for the ball.

Maybe Ohio State needs black or brown uniforms to hide the ball on the read option. Ha, I swear Oklahoma State's secondary is completely clueless to the reason they are on the field. They didn't even try to tackle by the end of the game.
