Wash me
Hey all,

Just wanted to send a shout from Costa Rica. It is amazing down here. Freaky animals everywhere, great fruit and coffee, and the possibility of me purchasing some real estate-- we´re sold.

I guess I don´t have much, though I´ll post a great picture of two girls ahead of us on a freaky plane. We went to a shack of an airplace, bought seats aboard a 4-seater plane that looked like it was tie-dyed, and flew a nerve-racking flight from Quepos to San José during which we all said goodbye. Even the pilot went scared as the weather threw our little plane all over the place. The two girls ahead of us assumed the head-between-the-legs crash pose for the full 30 minute flight. It was hilarious. . .

This nation is great! You have to go! It is totally a wing-it nation. We met a guy in San José who loved this volcano, and drove us 4 hours there for $60, and we have spent the last two days basking in magma heated springs, riding horses with cowboys up to watch lava fly, and doing half-mile long zip lines all the way back down. Good stuff. And muchos monkeys. :)

I´m sore and psyched, and on a plane to El Salvador tomorrow, and then on to Honduras for a week after that. God damn my overstressed soul needed this trip.

Anyway, yeah. Go Central America and Go Buckeyes!

To what I am sure is great anticipation, attached are photos of:

The "airport" where we caught our flight.

The hippie plane.

The girls in crash position (and notice that you can see WAY too much ground out of the window on this shot - one of the many dives and swoops. . .)

I was all set to go until you mentioned monkeys. I was ten and went to some festival in my home town. There happened to be a monkey grinder there. The monkey sat on my shoulder long enough for my mom to snap a picture. After the festival we went down to the Football Hall of Fame. I spent the visit in the bathroom vomiting. Great times! Damned dirty ape!

Anyone who ever flies back from Costa Rica, you must pay a $26 Exit tax at the airport before you can even get your boarding pass to fly home.

Luckily I was told that a day before I left but there were a TON of pissed off people who waited in the check in line for 45 minutes only be be told they must pay the "exit tax" first.

Ecuador was the same way. All of these Latin American nations have their hands out at all times, you can't really blame them, though. I think it would be worth $26 just to see a bunch of pissed off and confused Americans who can't speak Spanish, but I have a warped sense of humor.

If someone can afford to go to Costa Rica and exploit their women and others they should certainly have the common courtesy of the leaving the poor country a fucking tip on the way out, jesus.

I'm on my phone so this will be poorly written.

I went out in San Jose to the "women and drugs" area. wow. I went late, I guess I like danger. I was followed by this huge transsexual and had to run... When I got to the "bad" area it wasn't nice. Bad drugs and young girls. I wanted to take them all away. It was a very sad scene.

Airport "exit" taxes are common in the Carib and central America.
Poverty and exploitation are common in the Carib and central America.
