The online graphic novels give some background on the characters, the primatechpaper.com idea is meant to make you feel more "involved" as best I can tell, like during the episode it flashed a number to send a text message to with the message "I can't stop them alone."
There's a TON of geeks over at http://www.9thwonders.com who are obsessed with all this, personally, I am more curious what the point is, it looks pretty much like a gimick, but who knows.
Either way, it's a great show, reminds me of the first season of LOST, hopefully it doesn't get as frustrating.

Great one tonight so far! Ando showed us a new wrinkle (forgive the pun) and about time peter isn't such a Pussy. Sylar is getting to be pretty badass I must say.

Yeah it's too bad about Simone, but at least they replaced her with a hot, walking modem. I was starting to get pissed about the somebody dies part of the previews. Thinking that they were going to do the old star trek red shirt thing with the mechanic. Introduce a new character for the sole purpose of killing them off.
Overall it was a very good episode, and not just a tease, like some other shows have been known to do.

Just saw it today, I was pretty surprised that Peter seems to be able to draw all of Sylar's powers.
I wasn't too shocked with Simone dying, now if they would only kill that mind reader and his wife. I can't stand their constant whining.
