Herbstreit in the DOG house..

"Then why do you insist on continuing your idiotic line of reasoning?"
Because what's good for the goose is good for the gander, Akak...

"who's beating the dead horse?"
Looks like everyone still posting on this thread...

"You're the one coming over to a new board, and slamming long-time posters of good standing"
Hey, I'm only slamming long-timers who were slamming a short-timer for expressing what I believe to be a somewhat correct (if poorly-written) opinion.
"If you don't like us "fascist communities", then get out"
Naw, I think I'll stick around and fight the power
"If you want to be respected,"
Stop right there. If anyone here is looking for respect, you're in the wrong place: nobody here even goes by their real name (well, most don't :wink2: ).

Thanks to all for the warm welcome to BP, though! I'm off work now, but we'll get to football another time... Oh, and Go Bucks!:osu:
I agree KevinBuck that idiot AKA must be blind and nice post

Uh, show us where he regrets saying that, at the time of his quote, he could not indorse the Ohio State offense to a blue-chip recruit.
Its blatantly obvious by the way hes been sucking up lately, even an Einstein like you should be able to see that. :wink2:

"If Herbie is "swinging too far", then he is not being objective by definition. Objective is like pregnant, you are or you aren't, subjective is like temperature, it differs by degrees. If he is straying from the facts at all, then he is being subjective, not objective."

<!-- / message -->That's exactly what I was saying. Now, since I've been "warned", I'll leave off here and give you all a chance to pop some blood-pressure pills. :)

Thanks for taking Kevinbuck's side in a post where he admits he's a hypocrite... it was a nice post.

Thank you for calling me an idiot... and by the way... Its AKAK...

Anyway, Penguin, I'm pretty excited that you've taken to flaming to get your point accross...

and for some reason I re-read most of this thread...

I was wondering... just for the sake of posterity. Could you provide one direct quote from Herbstreit regarding any of this recruiting stuff? I mean, you said things weren't taken out of context... so I'm wondering... verbatim.. what he said... because I know, at the end of the day you're
with the University of OSU.
So I know you are on the side of the whole truth.

ripping on posters for beating a dead horse......while posting the same thing over and over and over and over and over.......isnt there a word for that?
I love how you say "beating a dead horse" and continue to say that you wish this thread never happened or whatever the fuck you said......I try not to pay to much attention to whining. However, it is interesting how you continue to post in on this subject over and over again? Maybe you just want your opposition to lay down, Whatever its not over until everybody says so. Deal with it or take it to court like you said...but stop the whining it makes you sound weak at best. :!

ok, I think it's time for good recipe for shrimp scampi. Nothing clears the room like strong shrimp dishes and I have it on good authority that Herbie likes this recipe.

1 lb of shrimp
3/4 cup butter
4-6 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup white wine
2 T fresh parsley
2 T lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

cook shrimp 3 minutes each side

serve over angel hair or linguine

YEAH!

How has he been sucking up? Give me a quote. If he acknowledges the great performance that Troy Smith had at The Game, that's not sucking up, that's being objective, which is what he's paid to be.

That's only thing that's blatantly obvious is that you're a psychotic, who thinks Herbstreit is blasphemous and an asshole if he criticizes any aspect of Ohio State football and yet is "sucking up" if he compliments anything about it.

Akak, I forgot all about that thread...I can give out the chili recipe but it's in my head so who knows what might end up in it

You guys gotta understand something about Herbstreit. He never thought about being anything other than a Buckeye when he was in HS and before and he was as happy as a 55 year old virgin in a pocket pussy factory when he got his schollie offer from Cooper. He is more passionate about OSU football than anyone I've ever known (granted I haven't spoken to him in years, but take it for what it's worth). He may not show it on TV because he's a cool character and always has been, but you can bet your ass he's emotional about everything that goes on there. Sometimes too emotional.

He's critical and he's agreeable but he'll always speak his mind honestly. He was like that at Centerville. Some people took that as having a big head and I was one of them a bit though I always liked him.

Kirk also wanted to get into TV and Radio even before he accepted the schollie offer to OSU. He was born to do it, you could say. So you can't criticize him for doing his job. My only thing with him is he gets a little crazy about what he says at times, but just because he criticizes the team doesn't mean it's a problem that needs correction or anything.

He's about as fine an alumni as it gets. This thread is getting really stupid, dammit.

"He never thought about being anything other than a Buckeye when he was in HS"

Not that this affects my opinion of him today, but Herbstreit has repeatedly told stories about visiting and strongly considering TTUN before committing to the Bucks. And he said recently on the Big Show that the only real input his Buckeye dad gave him in the recruiting process was to say what a horrible thing it would be to run into the 'Shoe wearing that ugly winged helmet.
