Just bought this to go along with my existing Linksys AC1900 router.
Currently my router is in my basement along with my personally owned modem (fuck that leasing nonsense fyi). From there I have my house wired with Cat5e going up to my living room, nook off kitchen, and office on the 2nd floor. My issue was that tmy bedroom is on the opposite end of the house 2 floors up from where my router is. With devices that utilize newer wifi technology I have zero problems. However, I have a 1st gen Chromecast in my bedroom which struggled at times because it only supports 2.4ghz connectivity and does not support AC. I am going to put this WiFi extender in my office which is connected to my bedroom (currently I have an 8 port switch in my office that is hard wired to the router in the basement).
Will follow back up with results but I anticipate my entire 3500 square foot home (including the basement) to be in full wifi signal. I am really hoping the coverage extends outside and covers my entire property which is only .5 acres but still.
FYI - AC routers are such an improvement. My download speeds over Wireless are just as good as being hard wired in the testing I have done (50mbps download connection but I consistently get 60-65mbps).
