Ginn and Young both entered the game last night in most people's top five for the Heisman. Obviously the win help Young, but he also thre two interceptions - and ine if them was a HORRIBLE decision on his part. Ginn looked great on his returns, but wasn't much a part of the game otherwise.

What did you guys see that you think will either help or hurt either of these two guys in staying in the top 5 contenders?

Also, it is completely unthinkable that a *GASP* defensive player*GASP* could be the best player in college FB, but I'd have to put Hawk in the mix if it was me voting.
 
hawk played amazing, hes the best defensive player in college football, i like that DE from BC too, but hawk is just a playmaker. hawk had a monster game and if he doesnt win all the defensive awards this year then something is seriously wrong. ginn didnt get the ball enough, i dont know why but he didnt, that has to put his heisman hopes on hold. young looked good, but he did have two interceptions, i agree with 21, all the people will remember is what he did when it counted.

i have more respect for vince young right now than almost any player in the game, ill be rooting for him for the rest of his career, he'll no doubt have a great one.

Grad's 2nd point is the main key for VY's Heisman hopes imo.

Also gotta make that 1:1 TD:INT thing start looking a whole lot better.

Biggest thing he could do now is go out and absolutely dominate OU and then put up guady numbers vs some of the weaker b12 teams.

I honestly hope he wins it.

throw in carpenter too, some scouts think that carpenter will be a better player at the next level because he goes at 255 w/ a 4.53, while hawk goes 245 with a 4.46. im not saying that i think he will be, but thats just an opinion by others.

I think Teddy needed to have a great game last night to really have a shot at the Heisman, and he didn't. He looked good on just one return in my opinion, and did nothing on offense. He dropped at least 2 passes, and was only open a few times. His reverse was actually a great run, he should have lost 7 yards instead of the 1 or 2 he did lose. He's still a darkhorse for the Heisman, but will have to put up ridiculous numbers the rest of the way.

I didn't really see Vince do that much make himself the frontrunner for the Heisman, but he certainly didn't hurt his cause. He played a good game, and made the throws that counted, his mistakes were somewhat minimized by the fact that tOSU didn't make a touchdown out of them. That being said I agree with grad, if he puts up good numbers and the Horns go undefeated, all that anyone will remember about him playing this game is that he won.

Yes I did and so far I'd have to say the young Mr. Ginn has spent too much time reading his press clippings and too little on how to run good routes and catch the damn ball. Also looks like he's been taking river dance lessons from Lydell "Lord of the Dance" Ross...we may be seeing the sophmore slump I was hoping he was too good for.

Still a lot of games to be played and a lot of time to turn it around but he hasn't dominated the first 2 games like he is capable of.

I saw that too, and it makes me think he was nervous about something. Either about playing in the big game, or about putting on a show.

I would like to see him earn the same reputation as Holmes as being a great route runner - he would then have a combination (speed & routes) that would be unmatched.

what people need to understand is Teddy is a home run hitter right now. He is not going to hit for average (not experienced enough yet)...he will make the big play. He is not terribly patient on cuts and routes and therefore takes himself out of a lot of plays. Watch Gonzo and Holmes run their routes then watch Teddy...night and day. But what the coaching staff needs to do is realize this and don't have him run only traditional routes, rather have him catch a hitch, run a reverse, run him on option as pitch man or receiver. They see him everyday in practice and must know that he is a homerun hitter right now and just like with Barry Sanders I will take a few of his losses for the big plays he brings.
