  • A 29-year-old personal trainer died from a caffeine overdose in 2021, an inquest heard.
  • Tom Mansfield got his "maths wrong" when measuring a dose of caffeine powder, the coroner said.
  • He ingested up to 5g (0.2 oz) of caffeine powder, which is equivalent to up to 200 cups of coffee.
A personal trainer died from an overdose after accidentally ingesting a powder with caffeine levels equivalent to up to 200 cups of coffee, an inquest heard, per reports.

Tom Mansfield, 29, bought a 100g (3.5 oz) bag of caffeine powder from Blackburn Distributions, a British sports supplements company, according to BBC News.

The recommended dose of caffeine powder, which is often used by gymgoers to aid their performance, was between 60 300mg (0.002 and 0.01 oz).

But Mansfield's digital scale had a starting weight of 2g (0.07 oz), and the product did not come with a measuring scoop, Yahoo! News reported.

The father-of-two from Colwyn Bay, Wales, miscalculated his measurement and scooped up to 5g (0.2 oz) of the powder, the inquest heard, per Yahoo! News.

Coroner John Gittins said Manfield had been aiming for the "mid-range of the recommended dose," but "he got his maths wrong," per BBC.

Mansfield took a sip of the mixture before downing the rest of the drink on January 5, 2021, the media outlet said.

The inquest heard that he began clutching his chest and complaining that his heart was beating fast, BBC News reported. Minutes later, the media outlet said, he started foaming at the mouth.

Paramedics arrived at his home and tried to resuscitate him for 45 minutes before pronouncing him dead at a hospital.

A post-mortem examination showed Mansfield had caffeine levels of 392mg per liter of blood, per BBC News. A typical coffee produces 2 to 4 mg per liter, meaning that he consumed the equivalent of up to 200 cups.

The cause of death was marked as caffeine toxicity.

According to North Wales Live, the coroner said that had Mansfield been provided with a scoop, he would likely still be alive today. Gittins said he had been "massively reassured" that Blackburn Distributions now provides a scoop with this brand of caffeine powder, the media outlet said.

"caffeine toxicity" ... At least the cause of death was definitively established in this case.

Pennsylvania man accused of hiding in attic of woman he met on OnlyFans, recording her

(NEXSTAR) – Prosecutors say a 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania figured out where a woman he met on the website OnlyFans lived, drove to her home and hid in her attic, coming down to take videos of her while she slept.

Court documents released last Monday also accuse 20-year-old Mauricio Damian Guerrero of stealing some of the woman’s underwear and trying to place a tracking device on her car, the Associated Press reports.

Police in Somersworth, New Hampshire said they arrested Damian Guerrero just after 4:40 a.m. on Feb. 9 after a resident inside the victim’s home reported hearing someone.

Police said they found Damian Guerrero, who drove nearly 400 miles from his home in Bensalem, on the roof of the victim’s home.

An affidavit obtained by NBC News states that the woman, who lives with her mother and has a young child, called 911 after seeing someone standing in her hallway that morning.

The woman told officers that she had noticed odd things happening in the home in the days before his arrest – keys disappearing from a counter, windows unexpectedly ajar and once a door off the kitchen left open, according to the affidavit.

Somersworth police said that the woman knew who Guerrero was, and, according to the affidavit, she had given him her address after he convinced her that he wanted to buy her a television and fireplace.

Guerrero faces four felony counts of burglary and was released on $2,500 cash bail last week. WMUR-TV reports that he’s been ordered to wear a tracking bracelet and not have contact with the victim.

Sounds like his weekend was ruined

Police found a leg in a trash bag on a street in East New York, Brooklyn on Monday — the second time in four days human remains had been discarded in the neighborhood.

The gruesome discovery occurred at about 4 p.m. on March 7 near the corner of Jamaica Avenue and Wyona Street.

According to law enforcement sources, several passersby saw a leg sticking out of a ripped trash bag at the location and called police for assistance.

Officers from the 75th Precinct responded to the incident along with EMS units. Upon further investigation, police discovered that the leg, which still had a sock on it, was located within a car tire discarded in the bag.

The remains were transferred to the Medical Examiner’s office for testing and identification.

It’s not known, at this point in the investigation, whether the incident was connected to the discovery of a human torso near the corner of Atlantic and Pennsylvania Avenues in East New York on the morning of March 3.

In that incident, police reported, a woman’s torso had been left inside of a large bag placed in a shopping cart.

Both investigations remain ongoing, police said.

Ancient Japanese ‘killing stone’ said to contain evil demon has cracked open
By Jamie Harris
https://nypost.com/2022/03/08/ancie...-said-to-contain-evil-demon-has-cracked-open/
As if the world doesn’t have enough problems, people are now worried that an evil demon locked in a rock for almost 1,000 years is on the loose.

The so-called ‘killing stone’ that kept the malevolent spirit imprisoned all this time has split in two, sending believers into a state of panic.

Japanese legend has it that anyone who comes into contact with the rock will die.

According to mythology, the volanic rock – officially called Sessho-seki – is home to Tamomo-No-Mae, aka the Nine-Tailed Fox.

The demon apparently took the form of a beautiful woman, who was part of a plot to kill Emperor Toba, ruler of Japan from 1107 to 1123.

Located in the mountainous northern region of Tochigi, near Tokyo, the rock is something of a tourist hotspot – but now visitors are fearful.

Some speculate that the evil spirit may have even been resurrected to wreck havoc once more.

“I feel like I’ve seen something that shouldn’t be seen,” one visitor said on Twitter.

Others have commented, saying: “Here I thought 2022 couldn’t get worse.

“Now a furious Japanese spirit is freed from its ‘killing stone’.”

But another joked: “My guess is the demon is going to look around at 2022 and want to go back into the rock for another millennium.”

Local reports suggest the rock actually started cracking a couple of years ago.

It’s thought rainwater may have got inside causing the damage.

Officials are now mulling over what to do with the rock’s remains and could attempt to restore it.

Google Translation of the Tweet above:
I came alone to Sesshoseki, where the legend of the nine-tailed fox remains.

The big rock in the middle wrapped around with a rope is that ...

It was supposed to be, but the rock was split in half and the rope was also detached.

If it's a manga, it's a pattern that the seal is broken and it's possessed by the nine-tailed fox, and I feel like I've seen something that shouldn't be seen.

    • Harvey Marcelin, 83, who killed two women in 1963 and 1983, was arrested in connection to the murder of a 68-year-old woman in Brooklyn last week
    • Marcelin was charged with concealing a body believed to belong to Susan Leyden, an acquaintance who was last seen at Marcelin's apartment
    • A search of Marcelin's home turned up a human head days after a headless torso and leg turned up in the streets near the Cypress Hills apartment
    • Marcelin had served 20 years in prison for killing a girlfriend in 1963 and killed another girlfriend after being out for only a year
    • During a parole hearing, Marcelin said she had 'a problem with women'

An 83-year-transsexual on lifetime parole for killing two women - one in 1963 and another reportedly shortly after she got out prison in 1984 - has been charged in connection with the killing of a 68-year-old woman whose body was found dismembered in a Brooklyn neighborhood, law enforcement sources tell DailyMail.com.

Harvey Marcelin, a transgender woman, was arrested late last week on a charge of concealing a body and could soon face upgraded charges after she was allegedly caught on surveillance cameras dumping a body near her Cypress Hills apartment.

Sources identified the victim as Susan Leyden, formerly of Teaneck, New Jersey, and said Marcelin knew her.

Leyden's headless torso was stuffed into a garbage bag and dumped in a shopping cart in Brooklyn, sources said. Last Thursday, a passerby made the grisly discovery on Pennsylvania and Atlantic avenues in the borough around 1:45 a.m. when he peeked inside the garbage bag.

Police said the female corpse was found inside the bag without a head or limbs and did not appear to be decomposed.

A search warrant into Marcelin's home turned up a 'human head,' along with electric saws Marcelin bought at a nearby Home Depot.

On Monday, a severed leg, which had been cut from the knee down and was still wearing a sock, was poking out of a discarded tire four blocks away. It is believed to belong to the same woman as the torso.

By scouring surveillance footage, police were able to track down a woman seen dumping the trash bags, a source told the New York Daily News.

Leyden was last seen alive on February 27 as she entered Marceline's apartment carrying a 'multi-colored bag with a flower decal,' according to prosecutors. Marcelin was spotted leaving the building with the same bag three days later.

The murder of Leyden is the third killing Marcelin has been connected to. On April 18, 1963, Marcelin was arrested for shooting her then-girlfriend Jacqueline Bonds three times inside their Manhattan apartment, the the New York Post reported. Marcelin was sentenced to 20 years to life and was paroled in 1984, according to state prison records.

She went on to fatally stab another girlfriend, stuffing her body into a bag and dumping it on the streets near Central Park. Marcelin was arrested in 1986 and convicted of manslaughter. She was released from the Cayuga Correctional Facility in upstate New York in 2019. Prior to her release, Marcelin had admitting during a parole hearing that she had 'a problem with women,' the Post reported. Marcelin is currently in custody and being held without bail at Riker's Island. The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office said the case is still under investigation.

More indications have emerged concerning the circumstances leading to the alleged killing of a 26-year-old lady Jasmine James by a 22-year-old Nigerian man, Chiedozie Amadi in Houston, Texas.

The Herald earlier reported that police arrested Amadi at the scene of the incident on Thursday.

In a statement, Houston Police said witnesses told officers Amadi appeared to intentionally strike the victim with his vehicle as she walked on the sidewalk, causing the vehicle to flip over. Amadi was then seen striking the victim in the head with a metal object.

Unconfirmed reports say James was a sex worker and Amadi was her client.

It was said that things went awry between the duo when James allegedly stole a yet-to-be-identified object from him and made away with it.

Amadi reportedly traced her with his car and caught up with her with her at 9700 Block on Bissonnet Street, where he ran her over before hitting her with the metal object.

It was not immediately clear if an altercation occurred at the scene before Amadi hit James with the vehicle.

Meanwhile, a magistrate set Amadi’s bail amount at $2,000,000 at the request of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

“The repeated and violent nature of this incident indicates that defendant poses a threat to the community and public safety everywhere if released,” prosecutor Michael Levine wrote in the DA’s request for the bail amount.

If convicted, Amadi faces between 5 and 99 years to life in prison.

U.S. GOVERNMENT GETS BIG INTO POKÉMON AFTER SEIZING $57K CHARIZARD CARD IN COVID LOAN SCAM
Word of advice: don't defraud the U.S. Government, even if you really, really want to buy that rare Pokémon card.

Those who are into Pokémon (especially if they are of a certain age) know about Charizard, a fire-breathing dragon who is one of the most popular, powerful, and imposing Pokémons out there.

Charizard cards are so popular and so rare that versions have sold for up to $369,000. That’s an impressive price tag, even for a creature who can pulverize its opponents into goo. They’re so coveted by Pokémon card collectors, in fact, that at least one person was apparently willing to defraud the U.S. Government to get their hands on one.

According to the Associated Press, 31-year-old Vinath Oudomsine of Dublin, Georgia illegally applied for a COVID-19 relief loan last year when he inflated his “entertainment services” company’s annual revenues and said that it employed more people than it actually did. Oudomsine received $85,000 from the government and used two-thirds of that — $57,789, to be exact — to buy a Charizard card.

Oudomsine pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, and his plea agreement with acting U.S. Attorney David Estes of the South District of Georgia included three years in prison as well as turning Charizard over to the Feds. Whether this means the U.S. Department of Justice is now into Pokémon collecting is unclear, though the Federal Government is likely the envy of many a Charizard fan at this point.

Well guys, without writing a long, dramatic "this is why I'm leaving" post, if I disappear for the next 2-3 years, you'll know why.
