HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

That 2015 team brought back everyone.

This team has to replace, what 14 draft picks and a few other guys?

Not even close to the same set up.
The point was that both are/were returning champs. And 1 team got complacent and partied their faces off while the other seems to be staying more focused and more driven to repeat.

I get the point he’s trying to make but’s like he’s creating an argument that no one is making just to defeat that argument.

The ‘25 team is a completely different team. Why would they be complacent?

I find it still interesting how Day still has doubters. OSU isn’t winning by 5TDs every game, so fans think the team has been lucky. And not realizing that the defense is playing lights out, the QB is one of the most accurate in the country and the offense is getting better but Hartline is still calling quite a conservative game plan. Personally, I still haven’t seen a team this year that i feel confident could beat OSU in a neutral field. And honestly, I thought this would be the weakest team Day would have for the next 3-4yrs. The team is only going to get deeper and more talented.

Well, there is still one thing he has to do to clear his ledger.

I wonder if what we’re seeing from play calling and game management is coming from a place of Day and Hart knowing that they have a couple of years with JS and can manage the responsibility and load on him early with this schedule. Success begets success; by keeping things limited and continuing to let him grow into the position by stacking successful games and practices is a solid ‘developed here’ strategy that they’ll be able to point to when recruiting the next set of QBs.

I think they’re spending some of the karma credits from winning the NC. Spending on capex, investment, as you say, in a QB who will be here awhile, and in simply winning games rather than the opex urgency of having to do everything right now and with something-to-prove scores. I think we’ll see them start to turn it up, but on their timetable.

Ryan Day Surpasses Knute Rockne for Best Head Coach Winning Percentage in College Football History

With 75 wins in 85 games, Ryan Day’s winning percentage of 88.2% has surpassed that of Notre Dame legend Knute Rockne, college football’s all-time leader in career winning percentage with a mark of 88.1%.

When asked about the achievement after the game, Day had jokes.

"Well, I'm glad you brought that up because this is the last game I'll ever be coaching at Ohio State," Day said with a laugh. "I'm gonna hang it up, and that's it. I'm gonna do a walk off right now — I've appreciated being the coach here."...
