HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

I would put JT in that mix also. Say what you want about his passing. etc. But Barret was the undisputed leader of that team during his half century tenure. I'll never forget him after scoring in that comeback 1 point win over the Pedsters in 2017 in the Shoe running down the sideline screaming "Our House !"at everyone on the sideline.
JT was one of the greatest Buckeye leaders ever. I admit that I knocked his passing ability, but never his leadership

Been watching a lot of games from last year, getting ready for our season opener.

Not trying to belabor this point, but regular season Will Howard just wasn’t that great….so many underthrown balls that could’ve been walk-in touchdowns, some really bad INT’s, and some completions into windows where a play was made for him, but it wasn’t the right decision.

His leadership is unquestioned, but I actually think our QB play this year takes a pretty significant step up (in the regular season)….I will say the offense hit another gear in playoffs and Will executed at a high level at that point.

"Big Game" Ryan Day's last five games.....

Beat #9 Tennessee (2024 CFB playoff)
Beat #1 Oregon (2024 CFB playoff)
Beat #5 Texas (2024 CFB semifinal)
Beat #7 Notre Dame (2024 CFB championship)
Beat #1 Texas (2025 season opener)

6th straight win vs. AP top-5 team.
Alright. I guess he can stick around for another week before we run him out of town.

Is that good?

By the way, we should start using these teams' actual rankings, not their goofy seeding.

Tennessee was #7.
Oregon was #1.
Texas was #3.
Notre Dame was #5.

That makes sense, so I amended my post accordingly

Actually, the winning teams should have been re-ranked after each round of the playoffs, so that every team in the quarterfinals is in the top-8, every team in the semifinals is top-4, and the championship game is #1 vs #2.
