Just sayin': Yeah, the Ohio State football coaches are going a great job of recruiting players that want to be here and they are doing a great job of running the program so those same players want to stay here.

Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day Named FWAA Super 11 Coach of the Year​

It's hard to find a coach more accessible to the media than Ryan Day, especially at a program of prominence like Ohio State.

For that reason, the Football Writers Association of America has named Day as its Super 11 Coach of the Year, an honor presented to a coach who provides "outstanding media accessibility to their program throughout the season, notably through consistent interview opportunities with the head coach, coordinators, assistant coaches, and players," an Ohio State press release stated.

"All you have to do is watch the press conferences when it comes to Ryan Day," FWAA president Bill Bender said in the Ohio State release. "He takes questions from all outlets on arguably the largest beat in college football – and they often stretch well past what would be an acceptable amount of time to get those questions in."

Ryan Day hits trifecta: 3 Ohio State QBs drafted in 2025​

Ohio State coach Ryan Day can say he has helped seven former Buckeyes quarterbacks get drafted. Day worked with Dwayne Haskins (2017-2018) and Joe Burrow (2017) as an OSU assistant before both players became first-round draft picks, then as head coach in 2019-20 Day had Justin Fields, also a first-round pick. Next came first-rounder C.J. Stroud, followed by Ewers, Kyle McCord and Will Howard. McCord (sixth-round pick this year) and Ewers (seventh round) eventually transferred to Syracuse and Texas, respectively, and Howard (sixth round) came aboard from Kansas State. Burrow left for LSU in 2018.

Day doesn’t get credit for fully developing all of them, but he had some impact on all of them.
