I hope that I don't offend anyone here but I think personality is a problem. When your coach is emotionless on the sidelines after a bad call or bad play...when the QB changes an interview about a player's breakout game into a complimentary session about the kid attending Bible classes, something is very wrong.
I have strongly held religious beliefs and I have had to learn painfully to control my emotions in corporate and academic leadership positions over the years. I also had to learn that there is a time and place for emotional communication. There comes a time when dropping an F bomb is appropriate, especially in a locker room at halftime when a team of gifted athletes performs as these guys did down the stretch. If that upsets someone's religious values, tough luck.
Day and his coaches need to be on fire the next two games. They need to be in the grill of players that screw up or take a down off. Win or lose, if they can't get that done, then they need to go.
