I know I'm putting the cart way before the horse here, and OSU has a big game to play this weekend. But if Day and company somehow can put it all together and get it done this week and next, he would be the 3rd straight head coach to win a national championship at Ohio State (I don't count Fickell, he was always going to be an interm/stop gap solution for 1 year). Has that ever happened in the history of College Football?
Even more interesting…
If OSU were to win this playoffs, they’d have won the last (3) CFP championships on the inaugural year of a new format.
2002 BCS
2013 CFP (4 team playoff)
2024 (12) team playoff???
Kinda wild.
The first year of the BCS was 1998, so while OSU should have won the inaugural BCS, they did not.Even more interesting…

I’d fire him on the spot after. Those coaches never won a 2nd. Can’t get complacent. Go start the clock on the 4th coach.I know I'm putting the cart way before the horse here, and OSU has a big game to play this weekend. Fixed that for you. For the record, the point you made is valid...Even more interesting…

CFP 4 srarted in 2014 not 2013.
And frankly, from what I've heard, 98 shoulda been one of those years too.
You have no idea of how "should of" that year should have been if you weren't of age yet. That team was the most compete, experienced and talented since probably the prime Woody years. There were no weaknesses on paper, except at head coach.
Fucking Cooper
I get a knot in my stomach thinking about it all these years later. '98 MSU was the most devastating loss I have ever experienced as a fan.
Even with MSU, if that fucking moron doesn't straight up place the ball on the ground for Tennessee........You have no idea of how "should of" that year should have been if you weren't of age yet.
