HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

As a widely known Day supporter around these parts of the interwebs, I do agree he has been too stubborn on the offensive side on certain things for far too long. I am surprised a remote didn't go through my TV after the millionth time we ran a jet screen/sweep/run to the short side on a 3rd/4th and 1 yard to gain. My frustration is that we have demonstrable data showing the QB push works almost all the time there and we just don't do it.

However, we started to do it last game along with short-burst runs to the line, so I think we started to actually come around last week. Better late than never? Just need to keep doing it and never call a jet sweep/screen/toss to the short side of the field ever again when we need short yardage. Those plays can work, just not in that situation...I can give you verbatim what the staff would say on the logic of it ("well you see, you keep the ball in a limited space so there is less room for error" argument). But the more availing argument is that the less room that a defender has to cover in a short amount of time, the more likely it is to tackle the ball carrier in the backfield. Especially when there is no element of surprise since we do it all the time and defenses know it it is coming.

I do think that we are turning a corner here and Day is being more malleable with short yardage calls though. If he can get past that, I don't think we will have a valid gripe left in terms of play calling.
Oh come now:lol:….We all know that 93% of the time on 2nd and long it’s a run call. And the WR screen, can we just stop with that. Probably works 5% of the time.

Coach Day and his staff give out championship grades to their players. I wish the staff could get them. Not saying Day was perfect, but damn he came up in the clutch and gets an A from me.

9:10 mark in the third quarter, Day called out an illegal formation that was a critical call. One that most of our "fans" won't remember. Critical moment of the game and that's exactly why he's our head coach. There's a ton of criticism I can give to Day...but shit like that really matters for me. He cares and is knowledgeable in moments that matter...I will take that man in any battle for that reason, fuck yes Ryan Day.

He’s shown a willingness to make needed staffing moves. He needs to do something about Parker Fleming as special teams coach this off-season.

Keenan Bailey is another internal promotion to TE coach that is off to a rough start at the very least—their blocking, even Stover, has been absolutely horrendous all season and a huge reason the run game struggles.

And the transition plan from LJ Sr. needs to be addressed at some point, it feels like this off-season might be the time for that.

Taking no action on any of these this off-season will be a big problem moving forward.

On Fleming, I'm of the opinion we might need to make a change before the season is over...it seriously can't get worse in that department, I mean we can't even punt the ball at this point.

TE I think we're doing fairly well at, blocking does need to improve but recruiting and receiving so far has been pretty damn good.

LJ succession plan takes priority, recruiting has taken a hit on DL. Really hope there's a way to keep LJ around while the new guy gets established.

I would expect Day to address all of these issues, but my point was to the Rutgers game alone...really managed the game well overall.

Guys, I have a plan.... Fleming takes over for LJSr and Frye is gonna help out with the blocking of the TE.... problem solved...

Shuster is a TCUN alum, former MSNBC anchor, and currently with The Young Turks. I'll let you run your own BS detector past all of that.
I did not know that, and welcome the info.
He was also the guy that was tagging and threatening to boycott multiple major corporations on Twitter if they continued to treat UM unfairly (or something).

He seems to have legitimate mental health problems.

Also, he’s obviously a liar and also just as obviously makes shit up.

He rants and raves about journalistic integrity in classic psychological projection and “the lady doth protest too much” mode.
