Have You Ever Been "In the Zone"?

This one time when I used to play basketball I broke my ankle. When it was feeling pretty good I decided to shoot around a little bit. I ended up hitting 24 straight 3-pointers from all around the arc. I couldn't beleive they kept going in. Also in baseball when I was 10 I struck out 34 straight over many games...

Its kind of something you only can get when playing sports... I feel bad for people who don't play and will never be in the zone.

I dropped a log in the ESPN Zone on my last trip to NYC. Does that count?

As little league glory goes, I had a game where I was 5 for 5 with 2 Slams, a triple double and single. Drove in 12 or something. Also collected the win. I also struck out this kid I hated after I overheard his Dad (the coach of his team) say I was scared to pitch to him. The next time he came up, I beaned him. Not sure what my pitching line was other than that, though.

Three posts in a row in early February. I was on fire. Other posters stopped sending private messages in fear of messing with my mojo. Once all was said and done, I had been repped numerous times in a span of not more than four minutes. Of course, no news outlets jumped on the story. Those bastards denied the glory I should've had coming. I'll always have the screen shot I saved of my rep comments to show the grandkids...

Not me, but...

My 9 year old grand daughter at the time (she turned 11 on Friday) hit 12 of 19 high school three pointers as a fourth grade girl in the sixth grade girls leaque game. The crowd went nuts and a local parochial high school coach, who was the referee is already calling my daughter about her.

Another game, she scored 34 of her teams 36 in 5th grade and only gets to play half of the game.

LCB

:oh:

Track meet in h.s. Hauled off and chucked the discus 168 feet. It's almost 30 feet farther than any other recorded (competition) throw I had. Would have been a school record by 14 feet--too bad it was an intra-squad meet, and thus not official.

I had a day like that too. I was a long jumper and jumped some ridiculous length (I don't remember how long anymore) that I never came close to again. I still wonder if they just plain measured wrong...
