Anyone know of any special Pre-Order "deals" going on right now? I'm only looking to buy the $59.99 game not the extra stuff, but I know some stores still have free gifts when you order/preorder.

If any of you need to buy a new 360, and lookin to get a slim, I'd look at getting this bundle for when Reach comes out

I just bought a new 360 elite about four months ago. I wish I would have known about the new system. The new slim looks to have worked out the bugs and be a good buy. I also am a HUGH fan of Halo 3 and really am geeking for the Reach release.

Would like to have a few Buckeye Fans on the friends list who enjoy chatting about the bucks, recruiting, and some high school football as well... so please drop a friend request to the gammer tag: Its Shack

I play a lot of Halo 3 and a ton of Halo Reach when it comes out.

I played the Beta quite a bit and the "one shot" kills are very much in line with the Halo 3. As in sniper kills, rockets, sticky, etc..

The replacement of the Battle Riffle is the DMR or Designated Marksman Riffle and this is where the major change takes place. Gone is the four shot kills of Halo 3 and the major change in stratagy happens because now its a true five shots with the DMR. You can rattle these shots off really fast but your aim ability takes a big decrease the faster you shoot.
Teamwork is key again as the Rambo types die fast as double shots kill very, very fast. MLG players will be rewarded for quality teamwork and communication.

Im going to be doing the same thing and have been shopping around for the best overall deal. Package deals aside, I think I am just going to to the Walmart base package which includes the game and a twenty dollar online shopping rebate. With the rebate I will pick up another 3 month account. In other words -buy game and get three months free of online.

Im not sure I really care about the body armor types, but if you do, certain places offer a unique armor option only through a preorder through them. Walmart for example has a recon type helmet, eb games has a chest and belt armor, etc, etc.

Boy, I wonder what deal site I might recommend at a time like this :p

Of course, their server crashed yesterday, so I had to google it, but a week ago newegg was taking preorders for 45. Still a pretty decent deal for 5 more.

Yesturday I was able to listen to the most recent podcast from Bungie Corp., the makers of the game, and they were talking about some of the changes and adjustments that have been made for the final release based off what they were seeing from the beta release. Most were small changes, timing issues, malee issues, power of weapons, weapon placement, among others. But for heavy gamers it will be interesting and worth your time.

One week away...and I got an email from best buy over the weekend that my preorder was included in a $20 best buy card that I didn't know that offer was existing. That was a nice surprise.

Its gonna be awesome. I havent' played Halo since the Original. And when Halo 2 came out Half-Life 2 was hitting shelves (sorry, far superior game)

But Saturday I"m taking both TV's outside for the game. Plenty of friends, plenty of beer. After we pound the living hell out of Miami, were going to continue celebrating. Having a random DD (god I hope) take us to Walmart and pick up a few copies. Then proceed back home with our outside venue and play the shit out of this game until the wee hours of the morning.
