My thoughts and impressions so far...
Things I like:
Still feels like Halo and plays like Halo. I agree that this is a "faster" style of play but still very much within the classic feel IMO. Im not yet at my Halo 3 or Halo Reach skill level with this game but I'm getting there.
I alos like the loadouts and the fact that you can tailer them to your particular play style. I was not sure about his going in but now its growing on me.
THe new "Regicide" FFA playlist is a cool idea. They basically found a way to have you play FFA, objective, and slayer all at the same time.
I also like how as long as a player is doing something positive for there team the game tries to recognize them and still rewards them with weapon drops or at least medals/points.
This game also LOOKS and SOUNDS awesome. This may be the one clear cut thing that stands out about this game. 343i deserves a pat on the back here. Makes me wonder what Halo 5 will look like on the xbox 720.
Things I don't like:
I realize that this function has been a staple of other FPS's like COD and Battlefield for a long time but I cant get used to jumping into the middle of a game, or even worse, the end of a game! This is just not a halo approach IMO. I wish you could set a priority where you would only be set up in NEW games, not ongoing games. This is my biggest gripe.
I am not loving the melee so far. It seems as though they made the melee spacing wider and faster. Double beat downs now seem like an even bigger option.
I think they will need to continue to examine the map balance of several maps. All the new weapons(which I like) and weapon drops, along with the hogs/ghosts/banshees/tanks/mantis/etc, create a problem for basic map control. -which has been a staple of Halo play for years.
Also wish they would remove the credit limits. why have credits if they cap you? If a kid wants to hide in his basement and get his SR50 in the first 30 hours, who really cares? Even more pointless when you consider the Double XP promotion they did. Now double XP just gets you to cap faster.

My friend and main online running mate for halo matchmaking has both games. He really enjoyed AC3 but said he was ready for Halo by the time it released. I think it depends on your desire for what your the bigger fan of. Unless matchmaking is a major factor, if that's the case, then Halo all the way.

I haven't played Halo multi since... 2002?? So I'm looking forward to the experience. General rule of thumb, I suck at FPS on console. I'm just so much more at home on PC.
I'll only be playing casually so as long as I'm not matched up against some 12 year old or anyone of Korean descent, I'm pretty happy.
