Its funny that with all the modern effects and gore we're exposed to, this old stuff is a lot more creepy.

Well save for, trash bag girl with the dunce hat on. WTF. Her parents just did her wrong. She's the first recorded costume fail.

I would venture to guess that the coloring on those photos (especially those in the sepia tones) go a long way to make those costumes look spookier than they would have looked in real life. I remember a photo of my grandfather as a 5 year old boy that my nother had hanging on our "family wall" while growing up used to give me nightmares becasue he just looked evil in that semi-out-of-focus dark black and white thing the photo had. Gives me shivers just thinking about it.

Although the whole canvas-bag-with-holes-in-it masks are pretty damn creepy.
