And you or I wouldn't hit fuckin .180 in the MLB, so what's your point?

By that amazing logic, we should let in Mendoza into the HOF as well, since he's better than us too, right? :roll1:

Nothing is funnier than the argument "Well, you couldn't do any better either" I think I heard that last in 3rd grade.

No Mendoza didn't have 3000 hits or 400 homers or 600 doubles or.....

And I didn't say that no matter what you want to read.....

Nothing is funnier than the argument "Well, you couldn't do any better either" I think I heard that last in 3rd grade.

that's about the level of any argument you usually bring to this forum so I still don't know why you are complaining.....

Maybe, just maybe, it's because he epitomized what the game is supposed to be all about. He just came to the ball park every game, played his ass of and played very well while doing so, and didn't act like a spoiled little beyatch like so many pros do nowadays. You could put his picture in the dictionary next to "baseball player"...

I'd build a franchise around mediocre/pedestrian players like him any day...

He played 21 seasons on one team during a time of free agency.

He turned down large contracts to make sure more money was available to provide the team with more talent.

Was never ejected from a game in 21 years.

He was ejected in 1989 for arguing strikes....

I'm watching the inductions, and saw Gwynn and Ripken , 2 class acts.

Two very classy players:

Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr. never played a regular-season game against each other but will be enshrined together in the Hall of Fame this summer.

Anyone else remember them as having a little more hair in their playing days?
