I would also like to see a more versatile guitar. I play guitar, and would like to see the colored buttons be 100% (or damn near close) sensitive to your music. You want it louder on your solos? Play harder, but have the accuracy be more difficult to keep up with..Could be dubbed "precision playing". Maybe a special feature when star power is engaged during a solo(just to keep it sensible). This would make EVERY SONG better, and would make people use star power at the right times(but still useable whenever just not as useful). Also regarding the guitar. I want customized sounds for each band/guitarist. If I want to make a dime squeal by jamming the buttons a certain way and dumpin the whammy bar I damn sure should be able to.

It would be cool to at least maybe earn that sound after you beat the guitarist(maybe a free leason after you beat their set of songs, but optionable to bypass if you have played through it before or if you don't want to see it). It could help capture some of his/her individual sound instead of the same repeating notes over and over and over...It would also help add a custom feel to any song you are playing not to mention have a whole different feel for the game instead of red, blue, green, orange, yellow WHAMMY!

In RockBand you can kind of add a custom sound by adjusting echo effects and such on your guitar. Dunno if thats what you're looking for.

I've never played the game so maybe my perceptions of it are off, but it looks like a glorified version of air guitar. I don't get the fascination with it.
I felt the same way, but as others have testified its something you have to play for yourself. I wasn't that interested at first, but the more I played it with my buddy, the more we enjoyed it. When RockBand came out we got into it even more with all the downloadable content. Its alright to play solo, but much more fun when you play with 1 or more people.

As far as my own Guitar Hero, I wanted an Aerosmith title, but we already got that. I really, really would rather have it for RockBand though, or the new Guitar Hero series so we could do vocals and drums. Joe Perry is a guitar god, but damn it I wanna be the Screamin' Demon and emulate Steven Tyler. I would have added a few more songs from the 80s/90s too, like Cryin' and What it Takes.

Never played GH or know anyone that has GH, but I sure would like to check it out.

People definitely have their opinions about either gh or rockband, but I think everyone who picks up one of those plastic kiddie toys will agree that it's ridiculously fun for what it is...

I never in a million years thought i'd be hooked on something like that. A lot of my friends laughed because I bought it just to try it out. I play some electric guitar, but i'm not advanced enough to just tear it apart like I would like to. So the game was appealing to me even if it seemed a little childish...Now all my friends have bought the game and play it constantly..It would be worth picking up or maybe renting it somewhere just to see if you like it..I've seen some of the taste in music you have, and I'll bet you that you'll love the game..
