I'm surprised. These are two really popular directors teaming up.

They're pretty much both more cult-popular than mainstream-popular, except when Rodriguez shills himself out for children's fare. Even Sin City was only a commercial success compared to its relatively-low production costs.

Hilarious gore, it's like the night of the zombies with lots of humor. Took my my college aged son and his friends and they all loved it, too. Was real surprised how empty the theater was but I bet it becomes a huge video success.

I saw the movie this weekend, and I'm surprised by the low figures for the movie. My theatre was almost completely packed.

Grindhouse was awesome. It attempts to embrace the B movie aesthetic of the 1970s and push it to the max. And I think it succeeds. Now, of course, those who hate the B movie aesthetic and/or hate Tarantino will not enjoy this movie. But I think a lot of people will really dig it.

My friends and I are still quoting it and laughing at parts that went SOOO far beyond the pale. It is bloody, it is hilarious, and I want to see it again!

I just saw it. The Rodriguez movie was ok. Tarantino's was definately better. Even though the car chase scene isn't quite at the level of Bullitt, Ronin or the one where the car ends up flying out of Marina City into the Chicago River, it's pretty damned good and the addition of some Tarantino dialogue definately adds to to the proceedings.

The trailers are great. Thanksgiving alone was worth the price of admission.
