Just to have said it, with the electric prong heating my charcoal, I can be cooking in 20 minutes. I know you can cook in 5 on gas, but really, 15 minutes is good prep time for whatever you intend to firebrand. I just can't using an artificial cooking device anymore.
There no reason not to have both.

(I actually only sprung for the side burner for my charcoal starter... It's the only thing I use it for)

Agree.

I bought this one 5 years ago as I did not have a lot of space and wanted a good gas grill and the comparable Weber was just too big:

Heats up fast, no flareups due to the heating plate (That is the so-called TRU-Infrared system they mean) and very easy to clean.

Also have this basic Weber for when I feel like getting that charcoal flavor or doing some hot smoking (hard to cold smoke in a Weber this small):

Eventually will have an offset barrel smoker when I get my back patio installed for it, and maybe upgrade the little Weber to a Green Egg some day.

What's necessary got to do with it?

Propane is natural, bro. They frack that [Mark May] right out the ground
I'm great with fracking, but that stuff is good for powering engines not cooking meat. Gas grill=artificial cooking device.

I do agree with the comments on Weber kettle. Or Egg/kamado. Excellent heat control.

"Propane, it's not just for Zambonis anymore!"

no, for grilling and smoking...what you do on your stovetop I'm unconcerned with.

Please note. All I said to him was "Weber" - didn't ask what fuel. He's the one that asked spirit or Genesis. I have a weber kettle too. And a smoker. And an iron grate that goes on an iron stand that used to be for a chimnea that I can put in my fire circle... Cajun burner, which is why I don't need the side burner except starting other stuff on fire... I like to remain flexible.

I'll be picking up my 3rd 22" Weber charcoal grill shortly. When I put the legs on, I always coat the top with JB Weld before attaching them. I wheel my grill around a fair amount, and this makes a huge difference. If those come out when your fire is still going, look out.

Well now you are just humblebragging and won't stand for it.

Say yes to fracking, say no to using it to sear meat.
