I was stoked when they said schiano, I remembered him from his Rutgers days, then to top it off he got NFL Head Coaching experience. There's consequences when you f up that bad, and I feel tn fans have f'd up bigtime. I think Schiano was a perfect fit right now.

The problem is common among many fan bases of traditional powers anymore...completely misjudging reality of college football. Everybody has the same number of scholarships, everyone in on TV every week, everyone has nice weight rooms. Those people still think Tennessee is a top 5 or 10 program. God bless them for wanting to believe that, but it just isn’t. And the more things like this that happen, the further in the rear view mirror the elite level will become.

To be fair, it was the end days of the Big East. WVU and Louisville were the other "powerhouse" schools.
Not that Tennessee would compete if that conference existed today...

No university president should devote so much time and attention to a coaching search. I love football but universities educate, first and foremost. Her time would be much better spent avoiding Fullmer and letting the adults get on with it. Stunning.
