Proud to be a Buckeye
Ooh, interesting thread. Here are my eclectic, obviously female responses.
1-Love songs: Unchained Melody (sung by the Righteous Brothers...most people remember it from Ghost.)
"Oh, my love, my darling, I've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time. And time can do so much. Are you still mine? I need your love, God speed your love to me."
2-Breakup songs: "The Way We Were" (sung in the movie by the same name)
Memories light the corners of my mind, misty watercolored memories of the way we were. Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind, smiles we gave to one another for the way we were. Can it be that it was all so simple then, or has time rewritten every line? If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we? Could we?....Memories may be beautiful, and yet, what's too painful to remember we simply choose to forget. But it's the laughter we will remember, whenever we remember, the way we were."
3-Jam: Anything by Radiohead, Matchbox 20, REM, Coldplay, Evanescence, et cetera.
4-Statement song: "Fragile" by Sting. (Originally about John Lennon's assasination, but took on a whole new meaning after the attacks on 9/11.)
"If blood will flow and flesh and steel are one, drying in the color of the evening sun, tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away, but something in our minds will always stay. Perhaps this final act was meant to cleanse your lifetime's argument, that nothing comes from violence, and nothing ever could. Bless all those born beneath an angry star, lest we forget how fragile we are. On and on the rain will fall, like tears from the sun. On and on the rain will show how fragile we are."
