Grammar Nazi: one space or two?

Do you use one or two spaces in between sentences? When I was in school I was taught two spaces, but now it seems like it's only one. Did this change or was I taught wrong?

I use two spaces between sentences in professional situations (essays, etc). Here on BP, one space.
