How about "Biscuit Eaters"? I would love to root for a bunch of biscuit eating players and coaches. The cheerleaders might be a bit on the heavy side but instead of jumping up and down they can roll each other
on the ground.

“Rhinos” is an under/if never-used nickname.

It’s a textbook case of canine monoculture rooted in systemic bias.

By centering bulldogs, institutions are perpetuating a narrow narrative that excludes marginalized breeds—where is the equitable representation for greyhounds, for beagles, for rescue mutts who’ve historically been under-resourced in mascot spaces? What about the breeds that were here before the colonizer breeds came in and stole their pet friendly areas?

Until we dismantle this bulldog-centric hegemony and embrace true canine diversity, our so-called ‘school spirit’ is just another form of structural inequality.
Sounds like a class action begging to be pursued

No nickname can best the 'Banana slugs'. Santa Cruz, CA. Anyway, on topic, will be interested to see how the speed of Grambling matches up with tOSU folk. Am betting on the Buckeyes running some fly routes (doesn't really matter, Jeremiah, Carnel, or Inness). Am betting that there will be more than several chunk yardage catches (let alone TDs) come out of this game.

That’s what I’d like to see… those 20+ yard chunk plays. Get down the field quick.

I get needing to work 2 tight ends and moving people off the ball etc. but that can be worked on in the red zone. Getting down the field in a hurry would be something I’d take away as a positive.

On defense? Just stopping the run.

I'm partial to another UC school's mascot: The UCI Anteaters. Zot!

Ohio State Favored to Beat Grambling State By Record-Setting 55.5 Points

Ohio State has never been a bigger favorite entering a game than it is entering Saturday’s game vs. Grambling State.

A betting line for Saturday’s game was released by FanDuel Sportsbook on Friday, and it lists the Buckeyes as a 55.5-point favorite over the Tigers.

Ohio State has never previously been favored to win a game by 52 points, according to Odds Shark’s betting line database, which dates back to 1990. Ohio State was a 52-point favorite against Rutgers in 2019, a game it ultimately won 56-21.

The 55.5-point spread is the largest for any college football game since LSU hosted Grambling State in 2023. The LSU Tigers were 56.5-point favorites for that game, which it won 72-10.

The over/under total for Ohio State vs. Grambling State is set at 62.5, giving the game an implied score of 59-3.

Ohio State has won its four previous FCS games by an average of 44.75 points. In its lone previous game against an HBCU, Ohio State earned a 76-0 win over Florida A&M in 2013; each of its other three games vs. FCS schools came against Youngstown State (38-6 in 2007, 43-0 in 2008 and 35-7 in 2003.
