Gotham Classic: tOSU vs. Notre Dame, Sat 12/21 @ 7:30p ET, ESPN2

Well that would be hooking and the foul on Craft was a damn cross check. both of those would have been 2 minutes in hockey.

The reffing was weird last night. They would call the ticky-tack crap on both teams and then let a rugby match break out towards the end.
That is pretty typical college reffing...they let guys beat the shit out of the ball handler coming up the court with no call then the minute someone starts to penetrate the whistle blows...

Can't wait to hear the comments from Tim Brando who is known for his "love" for the Buckeyes. Good thing he wasn't calling the game or I might be buying a new TV if I had to listen to his diatribe.

One thing that I don't know the answer to - did Matta ask his team to foul when Craft fouled with 6 seconds left up 3? That foul prevented ND from getting a shot at a tying 3 in their halfcourt offense. I think they were trying to foul on purpose because Matta knows firsthand what can happen when you don't foul, but Craft's reaction made it look like he was trying to draw a foul on ND.

My first reaction, with the way Craft kinda "dove" at the ball-handler, was that it was intentional.

I wasn't worried about that foul at all when it occurred. I think Craft may have been both trying to foul, but also use the backscreen as an opportunity to bait the refs. Smart play in as aspects, in my opinion.

I believe Craft's reaction was caused by the body check he received, and he was trying to get an illegal screen call. I don't believe he intentionally committed the foul.

Wow, ND's leader Jerian Grant played his last game of the season yesterday against OSU. ND just announced he is not eligible to play the rest of the season due to academics. That's one win that should've been a better resume-builder than it will turn out to be.

Was just about to post this. Wow. Big loss.

Like you said, this may not turn out to be very much of a "key win" as I would have thought/hoped earlier.

Well, according to Andy Katz the end of the ND semester is 12/23. So apparently he knew one day before the end of the semester that he would not be eligible for the next semester, but since the current semester hasn't ended he was still eligible.

What dies this really mean? He is not enrolled in the University, according to this press release, no? http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...tar-jerian-grant-no-longer-enrolled-in-school. So, is he thrown out? Is this for bad grades, or some other violation, such as improper assistance?
