Good luck Bucks from a Gopher fan

The defense is finally getting their "flames" fully stoked (it started in the game against my Gophers) and the offense is coming around. Pryor is not quite the passer he will be 2-3 years from now, but one or two long runs of his more than makes up for it. His stiff arm is sick.

This should be a great match up--but I am rooting for the Buckeyes!

Looking to get that "1" in the L column for Penn State so you can try and run the table and sneak in a Big Ten share since you don't play them there, eh?

Haha...no Gopher fans arent delusional enough to hope of a share of the title. 3-2 is our goal which would make us 9-3.

We couldnt win a share, because if Ohio State wins, they would win out and the Gophers would have no chance. If they lost, and Penn State still lost to someone else (although I dont know who--maybe @ Iowa), I think we would be left out because we lost to Ohio State.

Anyways the Gophers goals are 9-3 (10-2 would be great) but we are being optimistic. We won ONE game last year. Minney fans are just having a blast.

Good luck!

p.s. When is Herron coming back? I really liked what I saw from him.
p.p.s. How old is Mo Wells? It seems like he has been at tOSU since the earth cooled...

Herron is (I believe) ready and cleared to play, although as we hit the meat of the Big Ten schedule I think Beanie's carries will go up, and Mo Wells and Brandon Saine will get the majority of carries when Beanie needs a breather. I think the severity of the shot Herron took and our depth at RB means there's no reason to risk Booms career or health for ten or fewer carries a game.

Mo Wells is a true Senior. He came in as a backup to Pittman in '05, then was passed on the depth chart when Beanie arrived in '06. Mo Wells's career has been underwhelming, which is a major disappointment both because his talents probably haven't been featured correctly in the OSU offense, and because he's an A+ character kid. He does the work, is always ready to go, is great in pass pro, and is outstanding on the edge. The knock is his inability to make the first man miss, which is a huge liability given the problems with the O-Line for large stretches the past two seasons.

Thanks. Stpaulgoph you have a vastly improved team this year. Maybe RichRod can learn some lessons from your coach.

Hey, congratulations on the big win against Illinois. What a turn around. Purdue is imploding. You guys should take care of them if you don't beat yourselves. That should set up a pretty big game against Northwestern. Win that game and you'll be inline for a pretty big bowl bame.

Actually, judging from Wisky's meltdown and TSUN's woes, you guys could easily see 11-1. Depends on weather good or bad Wisconson shows up, they have a lot of pride up there, that could be tough. Same deal with TSUN, but they are way more of a train wreck. If they get it together, they could be tough. Like a wounded dog.

Thanks for all the kind words about the MN program. True Gophers fans are a skeptical lot (kind of Mich St fans...where is the implosion?!) but our schedule is soft.

If we clear Purdon't this weekend, our toughest game will be Iowa I think.

Shon Greene is for REAL, and they use the same zone blocking scheme Mason used when used to run all over Big Ten teams. Their defense is good but not great, but it should be a tough game.

Like I said 3-2 the rest of the way, to leave us with 9-3, and Brew as Big Ten COTY.

If we get to 10-2 Brewster might get love for national COTY depending on what Alabama does.

Whoever would have thought they would be saying "HUGE Big Ten game between NW and Minney" back in August? I sure didnt...

I'd love to see the Gophers play on New Year's Day. In my adult lifetime, I have never seen that.
I think it will happen...a NYD bowl in the next two years (although not BCS) is very much a possibility.

This team and program still has a ways to grow, but we this year we lose only 3 starters.

1 DE
1 TE
1 Punter

everyone else is back next year...

plus if Brewster gets to 9-10 wins he should be almost a lock for a Top 25 recruiting class again. I say that because he had a top 25 class last year and we were 1-11. Plus the stadium opens up, so recruiting at MN will be strong (maybe 3rd best in the Big Ten).

It appears that Brewster is getting the recruiting wagon rolling, and that the asst coaches are doing a good job. A NYD Bowl is in the cards for Minny, the only question is when. Once the 2's are good enough not to give it away while the 1's get a breather then the team will have more W's than L's, and last year's season will be merely an unpleasant memory.

Interesting that the coach's son transferred, though. Never have seen that happen.
