The Wild Animal Park is worth the trip if you have at least a couple of hours in the daylight. If you've been on an actual safari, though, it will pale in comparison.

Old Town for good (pricey - but good) Mexican food.
La Jolla - very beautiful. In fact anything near water is usually good on the girl watching front.
CAbrillo National Monument or the Maritime Museum - but then again I like all that old salt of the sea stuff.

The restaurant owned by Jim Croce's family has very good food.
