New York- Hey Kobe, top this.

Epiphanny Prince of Murry Bergtraum High School scored 113 points in a game Wednesday, breaking a national prep record previously held by Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller.

Prince, a 5-9 senior guard, led her team to a 137-32 victory over Brandeis High School.

"After I scored 29 points in the first quarter, I didn't think much of it," Prince told the Associated Press in a phone interview late Wednesday night. "After I had 58 points at the half, and especially after having in the 80s after the third quarter, I just decided to go for it."

Prince had 58 points at halftime for the Lady Blazers, ranked No. 2 in the nation by USA Today.

"At the half, we thought she had a chance to break the record so we just let her go," coach Ed Grezinsky said.

Miller scored 105 points for Riverside Poly in California against Riverside Norte Vista in 1982. She went on to become an All-American at USC.

yeah, it sucks having a coach who tells his players to try and break records. :roll1:

Good try. However, what value is the "record" if done against an obviously out-classed opponent? I would bet my life savings OJ Mayo or Greg Oden could drop 150 pts against the Canton School for the Deaf and Blind...is that a great record?

I do understand your position though Tibs...I'm sure your old Quiz Bowl glory days were full of records and absolute beatdowns.

I'm pretty sure I could score 114+ on a girls 2nd grade YWCA team. I think I am going down to the gym tonight to try to goad them into a game. Then I can have something to add to the "Something I brag about" thread!

Just to add to this, ESPN News said this morning that the girl went 54-60 (90 percent) from the field. She took 60 freaking shots and only missed six of them!!! That is the most insane shooter's touch ever.
