Games Very Worth Beating Thread

Alright we've already got a list of the games with the dumbest endings, or terrible game play in the other thread, now how about the games with the best storylines, and if its lacking in the story line department, does the gameplay make it worth beating?


I'd go with...

All Ratchet and Clanks- These games so fun, and the story line is humorous and enjoyable. Easily worth it.

Star Wars: Republic Commando- Not really a specifically great story, just something that is enough to keep you happy while delivering great squad based gun battles.

The Halo Series- These games are fun, and although I disagree with the ending of 3- trying to sell more crap (HATE THAT) the games had a complex story, that if you didn't get, you didn't get. Sure #2 sucked with a bad plot, but it made up for it in fun gameplay.

Assassins Creed- I'll deem this as the best sword wielding game- and it delivers a story to match.

Call of Duty 4- Wow. A terrific- plausable story, set along with perhaps the greatest tactical shooter game ever. Amazing.

Anyone gotten around to beating the Zelda game from the Wii or Mario World 8? I am currently waiting on the arrival of my Wii and having owned a PS2 for years, those are some of the main reasons I actually wanted the system, well that and the woman and I can actually play games together maybe resulting in one of us naked and running around the house like something from an old benny hill episode.

I agree on the Final Fantasy series, VII was one of the best games ever made, X was awesome, 8 was a fucking horrible excuse for a video game, and XII couldn't hold my attention long enough, the game was long, drawn out and the story moved way too fucking slow.

I beat Zelda for the Wii, haven't played Mario World 8, but Zelda is definitely worth it. Graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is great too.

As for FF VIII sucking, I have to disagree, that was my favorite one in the series.
