I think that you are reading it correctly. Here are a few reasons as to why some would consider UT an upgrade over Auburn.osugrad21 said:I'm reading that differently Mili....I'm reading that as UT is an upgrade from Auburn
You're correct. "Everywhere else" in this sense would refer to Lincoln, Nebraska @ night, Manhattan, Kansas @ night, Stillwater, OK @ night, Lubbock, TX @ night, Fayettenam, AR @ night, College Station, TX @ night, etc."Everywhere else" isn't Columbus, Ohio on a Saturday night
I agree with you that town size doesnt always matter, but what i was trying to say was that austin is the best of both worlds, big city and small town. Auburn, from what my sec buddies tell me, is the equivelent of college station. Nothing more than a tiny cowtown. I love the country so that is not a knock, but austin has country as well as city. This is clearly an oppinion but i dont think that it is too far off since austin has been rated as one of the top ten cities in the nation for some time now. I doubt that Auburn has cracked the top 100MililaniBuckeye said:High Lonesome, I don't agree fully with several of your points:
1) Town size doesn't always mean better. Plus you admit "I have never been to auburn". Hard to make a real comparative argument with that.
4) I don't see how Texas brings more "nationally recognition" than Auburn. Once you get into the top echelons of the power conferences (SEC, Big 12, Big Ten, etc.), the level of national recognition is the same.
wow. you guys think the rose bowl win was that good?Chalumpa said:With our Rose Bowl victory we moved out of a tie with Nebraska to take sole ownership of #3 all time wins. Auburn is a good program, but they are not on the same level as Texas.
High Lonesome said:Some teams just get more recognition than others regardless of how well they do. In any given year Texas, Oklahoma, Mich., tOSU, USC, Florida State, Miami, and Notre Dame will all get more recognition than the other schools in their confrence regardless of whether or not they diserve it.

Oh, and a few others during the day. :)
has nothing to do with what we think and everything to do with numbersBuckeyeNation27 said:wow. you guys think the rose bowl win was that good?
Do y'all have to bring in lights for night games? I heard that you did, but wasn't sure if that was true or not. I know Ohio State is legendary as a big party school, so I can see what you're talking about with a crazy crowd. Texas Tech is probably the best comparison for a crazy crowd Texas is used to but they can't compare in any way to the sheer number of people in the crowd.I guess what you don't understand is that there have been somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 or 6 night games ever at the shoe.
