You're assuming that they still have someone like Benson, a #4 pick overall in the draft, in their backfield this year. I doubt it. Moreover, generally speaking, I have a hard time buying into the Texas hype, considering they're a team that wasn't that great last year and they lost their best players on both sides of the ball.
I hate those damn 11-1 rosebowl years, :wink2:

Lonesome, attribute that post to teh same line of thinking that retorts "Northwestern!" any time someone suggests OSU will be good next year. You guys were a good team and have a lot of talent returning. I do think your receivers are gonna have to grow up mighty fast during this offseason however if their gonna lead your team to victory.

Yeah, I'll give you that. Doesn't make either point intelligent though.

That doesn't make either point intelligent? Are you seriously trying to tell me that losing your best player on offense and defense won't make your team worse off? I'll agree with you that an 11-1 season is good, but great (NC) seasons often require an unblemished record. When your team gets it done on the field throughout a season, your coach doesn't have to beg pollsters to put your team in a BCS bowl.

The reason he said neither post was intelligent was b/c if they weren't that good of a team last year, than we were horrendous. Yes losing those players will hurt no doubt, but if they can be written off as harmless despite winning all but one game, then we can be written off as neutered.

That's too bad. I would almost promise you our band would be down there (would you agree guys? I'm too young to remember the band at a really far away OOC game.

That's a total shame. I don't care how much it costs to get your band to a game as big as this...you just get them there. I can all but guarantee that TBDBITL will be in Austin next year.

NO way! It's their biggest OOC game this season!! Between a #3ish and a #5ish??

I think the AD over in Texas will rethink once the preseason rankings/hype comes out, and this game will look like the biggest game all YEAR.

Oh well, more seats for fans at the skull session (highly recomended that you Texas fans make it to that by the way, very cool) and at the game.

The skull session should be hopping before such a big game.

I could be mistaken, but I believe he's talking about the high school game... Tyler lee vs. Colerain.... hence the Tyler lee in his lil' mini-subject.

Of course, Lee was trying to get someone to pony up $100k to get the band, etc. to Cols... which is pretty damn funny when I seem to recall someone telling me it takes about half that to get TBDBITL to the rose bowl. Ever heard of chartering a few buses, folks?

Yes, maybe I have lower expectations than you do, but I call an 11-1 season with a BcS victory a "great year". The intelligent comment was not pointed at the fact that we were losing ced and dj. While I don't think that our team will be worse off just because we lost two players I do recognize the impact. As far as the begging goes, well it happened and then we took care of business agianst your confrence "champion".

Yeah, you beat scUM...on a last second field goal. Nothing like that pounding we gave them. It took a TD in scrub time for them to keep it from being any more of a blowout than it actually ended up. As far as taking care of business goes, how about having to dig yourselves out of a giant hole against an Oklahoma State team that we made look like did not belong on the same field as us. And I won't even go into detail regarding how you "took care of business" against that powerhouse football program that is Kansas.

Well said buckeyeboy. However I think Texas will be a formidable opponent. They will be ready for us. That being said, I don't think they are as good as us, nor are they as good as an 11-1 record in the Big Twelve implies. We have proven the Big Twelve doesn't belong on the same field as Ohio State and this time will be no different. Everything will be settled in September and I will be there to witness the best game of the year...that is until the Rose Bowl of course. Go Bucks!!

This is got to be the most ironic/hypocritical thing that I have ever read. You know what, I guess I'll just discount that championship that you won in '02, I mean you were hardly convincing in every single one of your victories. Oh and last time I checked regardless of how big the hole was against the pokes, we DID dig ourselves out. As far as Kansas goes, yet another WIN. It wasn't pretty, but it was a win no less.

YOU have GOT to be kidding.

We, as Buckeyes, have more appreciation for "a win is a win" than any other team in the freakin' country. We know that close wins aren't lucky; close wins are WINS. Stop making an ass out of yourself and making BP look bad.
