Game Thread Game Two: Texas 25, Ohio State 22 (final)

Question to Buckeye Fans:

I think most Texas fans you speak with, will concede the coaching match-up with OSU every time. Of course we don't know how this particular game will play out.........

But if by chance the unthinkable happens, and the Longhorns win, will this tarnish your opinion of coach Tressel? This is easily the biggest non conference game (excluding bowl games) in either of these coaches stints at their current school. If Texas loses well, it's more of the same pile on from the National media. But if OSU loses at home at night with such a talented club, what would be your reaction? Just a hypothetical.

Again, I believe if Texas wins the battle in the trenches, and doesn't turn the ball over we'll win this game. If we allow the Bucks to get penetration along the Dline, and can't pick up the many blitz looks OSU will employ we will lose. Enough about Vince and Ginn and Troy and Hawk. I'm pretty sure all these players will show up.

I think the game will be won by the play of less talked about players like Whitner, Carpenter, Kudla, and Patterson. These guys will need to step up and battle in order for OSU to win. On offense Datish, Sims, and Mangold will be the difference makers.

In comparison, we will need Studdard, Seindlen, and Allen to get it done. On defense Ced Griffin, Michael Huff, and Aaron Ross/Tarel Brown will be huge.

In all honesty, I would be supremely confident going into this game if our ST were in order going into this game. Every field goal attempt or PAT is magnified because of the challenge scoring pts will represent. As well, the Punt and Kickoff coverage is huge with the prospect of playing Ginn. We can play very well on both offense and defense and still lose this game. I can only hope we are up to the task.

If I could just ask one thing of you Buckeye fans tomorrow, please do not do the "Horns down" hand sign tomorrow. It's disrespectful. Don't lower yourselves to the likes of worthless oklahoma and texas a&m fAggies. Stick to a number 1 (middle finger if you like :wink2: ) or anything else. Thanks and good luck tomorrow and the rest of the season. Win or lose, you guys have a great team.

If you do the "horns-up", you're gonna get the "horns-down" in return. It's no different than our saying "Go Bucks!" in reply to a "Hook 'em!"...

That's too bad. Are you going to make it here at all this season? You might as well just wait and go to Pasadena!!!

I'm loading up on a Wedgewood for the game tomorrow night.

Likewise, I appreciate the hospitality. I've really enjoyed my time on here. Not as much as High Lonesome apparently though. (Stop drinking so much coffee, HL, or you'll have 20K posts by this time next year)

I echo your other sentiments as well.

I'll definitely be here until next year, but not just because of the 2006 edition of this game. I really like the board. It's small enough so that it doesn't feel impersonal but big enough to get sufficient traffic.

Anyway, I'll be back next week win or lose.
