The Arena District gets hopping on weekends. Great place to bar hop and mingle. Gotta go to Gordon Beirsch and Frog, Bear and Wild Boar.

Warning: Most Bars will not allow you wear your team jerseys into the bar. They are somewhat hysterical about gang colors sometimes.

There are lots of liquor stores around, but I usually hit Crown Liquor on Henderson Road. Just take 315 north of the parking lot to the Henderson exit and turn left. There is a shopping center in the SW corner of Henderson and Reed Rd. Crown Liquor is in that shopping center. There is a Sears Hardware across the street. Pick up a large trash can to ice the keg in over there.

But you didn't hear it from me....

I know this doesn't make him proven, but he's had all off-season to work on improving passing. And I'm pretty sure he's made it known that he wants to improve that aspect. You know he's probably been working his ass off this spring to get passing down, there's no way he hasn't. Now again, this doesn't make him proven. Just playing devil's advocate. We can't forget that Texas is preparing for this game just as hard as our Bucks are. And VY knows we're going to make him beat us with his arm so he's going to be working on that. But hopefully all the off-season work and mechanics get thrown out once he takes a hit from Carpenter under the lights with 100,000+ screaming. :)

I agree with the other statement by Ginn4Heisman20, and having no proven WRs will be the bigger difference IMO.

I don't see him becoming a highly accurate thrower/decision maker in one off-season. Mike Vick was a much better passer in college but he is considered below-average in the NFL.

lets break down the longhorn offense

WRs-unproven
Vince Youngs passing-unproven
RBs-unproven

now your offensive line is beast ill admit that, but unless if they can trully and completely dominate the trenches your offense wont be unstoppable

-cedric benson was your offense last year.
-vince young is a helluva runner, but hes going to have to pass to be effective against our D, 12TDs to 11 INTs are not heisman passing numbers, im not taking away from his running ability but last i checked he plays quarterback not running back

I have a lot of friends that like to go to the Long Street Entertainment area, its also in downtown (like the Arena District, they're a 5-10 minute walk away), but has a lot more college students...it has 5 or 6 different venues so you can usualyl find some good music and co-eds :biggrin:..they have a website: http://www.longstreetclubs.com/

Open containers are frowned upon, most people just conceal their cans or drink out of things like coffee mugs, it isn't a huge deal unless you are an ass, though they might crack down for the big game

Kegs are readily available, but you might want to call ahead, I have a feeling kegs will be in demand that weekend :wink:

I was thinking about that too. Forgot to put it in my post, about the decision making. Was going to say- all the off-season practices and drills in shorts and a t-shirt, or with no rush, or just working on mechanics won't help with his decision making on the field during the game, especially this one with how fast the game is going to be played because of the energy/adrenaline.

I still easily think tOSU will win the passing battle on D. We have too good of a secondary to let him throw on us, no matter how much he's improved.

Oh yeah, and I hope some more Heisman hype continues to build up for Vince. How many Heisman hopefuls have the Buckeyes D destroyed just over the lasy 3-4 years?! Kingsbury, Gesser, Cody Pickett (? not sure how hyped he was).

Yep, Big 12 domination... The teams that currently comprise the "Big" 12 have managed to amass the third worst record of any Division I-A conference against the Buckeyes. The only things keeping the B-12 out of the cellar on this one are the MAC and the WAC. Big 12 domination indeed. Oh yeah, and Mack Brown would KILL for a .500 record against the Sooners. ;-)

Besides, I bet you'd like to be able to beat the Sooners on their own turf -- as tOSU did in the later return game.

Of course your annual contest is played on the (cough - BS ) neutral (cough - BS ) ground of Dallas, TX. Yet the Sooner's still have your number that day. :wink2:
