And it wasn't even a normal jump ball! Sweed had it, and Jenkins made a great play a split second after the catch.

I love this guy now (I was uncertain before, despite the reputation), and don't even get me started on Laurinaitis.

hmmm... i think jenkins had it from the word go. he had position on the play and had both hands on the ball. sweed had only his right hand on it and i thought he was playing defense from what i saw on the replay.

Great game guys. TS had a great game and is definitely worthing of leading all the heisman contenders. Never once threw the ball to my horns!

Hard to believe OSU had only 22 more yards of offense than Texas. Of course, we can thank the turnovers for that...they killed us.

Colt played admirably under the circumstances. If only his intended targets could have done the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seemed like Texas won the battle trenches on both sides. Texas was able to run at will (for the most part) and was able to put some good pressure up front on Troy. Of course, like any good heisman trophy candidate he responded well to the pressure.

Also, congrats to Anthony Gonzalez...only catches 373 yards all last year and then catches 40% of that in one game against us.

Kudos to your kicker to. He averaged 50 yard per kick! Good high and long kicks. Our kicker did a good job too. It was really odd to see two really good punt/kicker returns like Aaron Ross and Teddy Ginn be such non-factors.

Now you guys need to hold up your end of this series and win the national championship so this home-and-home goes down in the history books for a long time.

I am a student here at OSU and just got back from the bars. Campus is crazy students are screaming O-H I-O chants all over campus, cops are out in full force but are all about letting everyone have fun. For a weekend before all the students get back it is a crazy time. Good game and GO BUCKS!

Screw that! I want to meet you guys again in Glendale for the rubber match. It couldn't happen any other way. Run the table and we'll see you January 8, 2007.

BTW...I want to give your band props. I'm a band geek and I thought they did some pretty complex DCI-type drills during the halftime show. And of course the Script Ohio was cool. Texas attempted a script Texas but it was lacking.

What I appreciated the most though was the band members applauding along side Texas fans when Earl Campbell was brought on to the field for his ceremony...very classy.

Don't let it be lost that this was a great two game series, not just for the Buckeyes and Longhorns, but for all college football fans. I'm glad we got the 1-1 series split, and wish the Longhorns -- and their great fans who have been regulars here for two-plus years -- the best of luck through 2006 and beyond.

Hook 'em!

I've got to be honest here, I've been reading a lot of big articles about how Colt McCoy is the next Major Applewhite ect. The media is setting up that kid for a monster letdown this weekend. They are raising the expectations of him to an unfair level, and all this publicity is somewhat bad for him. If I was Mack Brown I would have the kid out of the spotlight concentrating on the game, instead of giving interviews. Eventually he (Colt) will realize what it is that this game means, and I think it will be from him buying into the hype. He says that last week he wasn't nervous, and he treated it like a normal game. When he walks out tomorrow night in front of the whole nation, with 1 start under his belt.......there is no way that he won't be nervous. OSU is going to test him tomorrow right away. They are going to come out blitzing, and stacking 8 in the box daring him to throw it. If they get to him early, and get out to an early lead tomorrow..........I really like our chances here.

Not to overplay the Colt McCoy situation here..........but he is the key to Texas tomorrow. If OSU gets up on Texas early, then the pressure is on Colt to be the gunslinger that the media has hyped him to be. That Texas heat :p will get awfully hot for Colt if he is forced to be the man. Will he rise up to the challenge.....?

If I'm a betting man, I'd say no...

A quick little sidepoint to my thoughts here. OSU has a young defense, and if they are able to get to Colt early........they will build confidence, and start to play with a swagger. There is a chance that we could see our defense mature into midseason form tomorrow night if they come out playing well. Young kids need confidence, and if they can gain some early tomorrow.......they will start to show their ability, and play that much faster.

Hey guys, I hate to toot my own horn here, but it seems like most of my McCoy thoughts came true tonight. We realized that he is just a kid, and that our defense is much better than many envisioned. The scary part is, we have a rotation that is plain sick..............seriously.

He looked like a deer in the headlights this evening............

I think our offense is going vanilla now. As long as our D can hold on, we're good to go.
as soon as the refs signaled that the FG was good, i thouht to myself: well, we're in for one of Tressel's patented 10 point blowouts... i could hardly believe that he ran up the score and let Pitt get in the endzone... :p

Seriously, this can't be stated enough: High Lonesome. Engineer Horn. Yes, even xrayrandy, in all his glorious homeristict analysis, and all the rest I've forgotten: We've enjoyed your company over the past two seasons, and wish you the best on the road to a 12-1 Big-XII championship season. The banter has been fun, and I have developed a tremendous respect for the Longhorns, despite the fact that it sounds like the Longhorn band is guiding in Santa Claus with the sleigh bells every single fucking first down or TV timeout.
