Their linebacker crew is not as good as last season.......The lost a lot of size on the defensive line when 300+ LB Rodrique Wright left, they've replaced him with a 275 pound DT.
At LB we replaced a somewhat overated MLB who ran a 5.0 40, with a more athletic younger player. Last year we had one player with starting experience, this year we have three, and the backups are much better.
Do you really think 25 pounds makes a big difference at DT? Miller and Lokey are both stronger and quicker than Wright ever was. There is no dropoff at DT.
i would say it was a combination of they didnt want 2 show texas everything and they didnt want 2 risk him getting hurt. im not sure but that seems logical enough
We'll know who's the idiot in just over 6 days.
I disagree that the Texas offense and tOSU defense are unknowns. If N. Ill can run up 350 yards on tOSU, Texas will have 400+.
As far as the other matchup goes, both teams bring back a similar amount of talanet and have improved to a similar degree, so I think it's a push. In other words I expect tOSU to get about the same amount of yards as last year (255).
If those numbers are true then tOSU needs turnovers and big special teams plays to win. During the Off season I said that Texas should be a 14-17 point favorite. Well tOSUs defense is worse than I thought, and Colt is better than I thought he would be so I'm revising it up a TD to 21-24 (given 0 net turnovers and similar field position).

I don't think the deep ball will be open all the time as you suggested. Texas has the best DB's we will see all year and they will have Ginn covered pretty good. If Ginn can get open even with all that pressure on him, watch out.
Tressel ball wins and hides what they can really do.
