Red zone play calling

When we had the ball 1st and goal from the one foot line, I was screaming at the tv to run a QB sneak. Instead, we hand the ball off and Schnittker fumbles. Looks like JT learned his lesson, though, calling the QB sneak the next drive. When you need 1.5 yards or less (particularly when you have 4 downs to get it), why not use the QB sneak? The way I see it, handing the ball off not only sets the ball 4 yards deep, which could result in a loss of yards, but it also creates one more exchange and hence, another opportunity to fumble.

??

Nothing wrong with the call of Schnittker IMHO, its all about taking what you can get. (in other words protect the rock)

Even if he didn't break the plane, its only the 1st down, we still have 2 more pops from close in.

nothing that has happened thus far has surprised me all that much. this is for all intents and purposes ts' first game. imo he shouldn't have played against texas. ts doesn't have any "ability" problems. he has a mix of rust and the failure of last week hanging on him right now. he's running alot and missing reads because of it. he's trying to go out and win the game on his own. he needs to relax and fill the needs of the team. he's going to be ok as will the rest of the team.

How can they not be able to line up and run the football?

I don't want to hear that San Diego State is a great team. They aren't.

Line up and run the ball.

Hate to be negative but how many years of this are we going to have to watch? Make a statement for crying out loud.

This is a scrimmage. Iowa and scUM had nice practices today and we are struggling. This offense cannot run the table if we execute like this next week and beyond.

Let's hope the the 2nd half sparks something in the players and coaches on the offense.

I have to disagree........trying to be positive but with 80% of the practice snaps and your throwing the ball as poorly as he is, well I have to be critical of his performance to this point. I don't see how you can't be suprised by our lack of offensive production.
