There's a good series. Pittman runs backwards 8-9 yards, and on 3rd and 18 Smith skips it off the ground to a receiver a good 8 yards off the 1st down marker.

I hope they're just looking lethargic and flat to me because I heard what Lachey said about "worst week of practice", and therefore my perspective has been tainted. Because lethargy and apathy would speak to a question of discipline, and that would worry me more than one big play by SDSU, and one pathetic series by our O.

im not in the least. that game was as close to a back breaker as you can have in the second game of the season. when this game ends we will know exactly how much heart this team really has.

How so? We had to play a bump cover 2 for most of the game to negate VY's legs...that is extremely tough for a secondary

I don't know if I agree with that. Only thing that was exposed last week is that (1) Texas is a legitimate title contender, and (2) We're at least on par with Texas.

The D focused on containing VY, and short of the first bit of the first quarter, did an outstanding job. I think they played very well, and it's hard for anything to be 'exposed' against the #2 team in the nation. It was just a dog fight.

i think we do. i don't think we came into this one thinking about san diego though. i don't expect them to have their heads fully in the game till mid second quarter.
