Game thread: Texas 40, Texas A&M 29 (Final)

The BCS selection order is:

Orange (ACC winner)
Fiesta (B12 winner)
Sugar (SEC winner)

The only reason that we've been assuming that the Fiesta would pick first is because it's been a given that they'd lose Texas (Big 12 winner) to the Rose.

If Texas is available, the Fiesta gets them. The Rose would possibly become Penn State vs. USC with a Texas loss (though Texas could remain #2), and the Orange would get first pick.

Assuming that no matter what that the Sugar gets stuck with the BE winner (WVU), then the Orange would have a choice between the Ducks, Bucks and Domers. Picking the Domers would leave the Fiesta with a Bucks or Ducks choice, which is where we are now anyway.

Of course, I could be completely wrong. :)

as good as the longhorns' defense is supposed to be, they are nowhere nearly as fast up front and at the linebacker positions as ohio state is up front and at the linebacker positions.

edit: boy, i'd looooooove to see a texas rematch. we'll get one next year, but i'd love to see one right now.

edit no.2: is there any chance that texas is downgraded so far that ohio state would be ranked ahead of them? i know this is a stupid question (mainly because texas beat ohio state), but i thought i'd ask it anyway.
