Game thread: ND 41, Tennessee 21 (Final)

Its ironic that this game is all about UT.

If they decide to play up to their ability for the second whole time this season then they can whip ND.

I hate to use ESPN cliches put this is a circle the wagons game if ever there was such a thing and ND better watch out, the UT team has talent in all the right places...defense and specifically the D Line.

Or they can pull their usual and turn it over, play no offense and suck on special teams and hand ND a BCS spot today.

What is it Corso always says, urgency and redemption? The UT guys are playing for personal pride and should also be playing with a great deal of anger and embarrassment at what has transpired in 05 for them. Those are powerful motivators that I would not want the opponent to have going for them if I were Big Charlie.

I'll be mildly suprised, but not shocked, if UT loses to ND.

I will say that I agree with the reasonings behind UT winning, motivation, anger, pride, urgency, etc...

however, as good as that defense is and as bad as that offense is...I dont see them winning way up north in South Bend. No one is going to shut down that Notre Dame offense, you're simply going to have to just outscore them(Mich State/USC). And well, Tennessee doesn't have the offense to outscore anyone, not even our 03 team :P

Only way I can see this game being a real GAME and UT pulling it off, is if Notre Dame takes an injury to Quinn early, or crazy things happen like multiple/big turnovers. Or a couple special team blunders by ND. Some BIG & BAD things are going to have to happen for UT to win this one I think.

ND scored on a nice play to Fasano, and Tenn fumbled the ball back to them on the kickoff return.

Stovall made a great catch on a 3rd and 18, for a 35-yard TD.

Hard to believe a team with that kind of front four can give up 41 points, but it shows how pathetic their offense is and how average their secondary is, I guess. Looks like Notre Dame will win out and get that BCS bid.
