Game Thread Game Seven: #1 Ohio State 38, Michigan State 7 (10/14/06)

Hope they are more up for this game then vs Bowling Green

What was wrong with the Bowling Green game? Did you expect a touchdown on every play offensively, and a sack or an interception returned for a touchdown on every play defensively? They scored touchdowns on three of their first four drives. And, with the exception of the first drive of the third quarter, the defense played pretty well.

To tell you the truth, I'm surprised Ohio State scored as many as they did. I'm surprised that Smith threw that last touchdown pass. With a 28-7 lead in the fourth quarter, I'm surprised Tressel starts the drive with ANY pass, let alone a play where Ginn is going deep.

Michigan State has the athletic ability to play football with any team in the country. Unfortunately, they can't seem to turn that athletic ability into wins. I really hope that tomorrow isn't the day that they figure that part of it out, because they'd be a really good team.

bull shit they spoke openly. it was 2 days before they even confirmed he was injurred....and we still don't know to what extent.

Hold it right there, mister. Are you insinuating that the press would have lied in order to try to get Tressel to give an answser? :slappy:

Can you imagine the stupidity of thinking you could pull wool that thin over the eyes of Jim Tressel? :stupid:

"Oh, IVoyd gave you that information. Well, gosh, excuse me, he's having..." I don't think so!

I'm dying here...

Um this may have been stated before but I'm missing it. Is there any free radio of this game available?

My local radio station re-broadcasts online and it is free...PM me if you want the link, I don't want my poor little station to get inundated by everyone :)

ESPN says when the BCS comes out, Sunday?, that...........
USC will be number 1. :pissed:
I hope someone mentions that to the boys so they play with an attitude!

Bucks by 10.

I don't doubt that's what ESPN said, but I have a hard time believing that. The reason is, OSU is 1 in the Harris and Coaches, of course, and there are 4 of 6 computers that have polls available, and if memory serves 3 of them had OSU above USC, or something. In any case, I can't comprehend how USC could be getting "more love" from the computers when OSU has played Texas, Iowa, Penn State and even Northern Illinois. That's surely comparable to better than SC's Arkansas, Nebraska preseason.

Whatever, though.... what matters is being in the top two at the end, not the begining, and before we get there, we have MSU to worry about.

38 - 10, Buckeyes.

And IIRC, 2/3 of the BCS is from the Human Polls, so unless it is fairly close there isn't much of a concern about getting bumped to #2

The local "Dickheads" here in my little corner of the world ( of which I am a founding member and lifetime participant) always look to me for my insight into what I think is going to happen with the Buckeyes every week. So far this year, my dubious opinion has been pretty close. For the Texas and Iowa games, I let my little clan know that in each game, with ten minutes left, there would be no doubt about who was going to win.

For this one, for whatever reason, I don't have that feel. I had my choice this week, work early and watch the Buckeyes game or work late and watch my son's pee-wee game in the morning. As a father, needless to say I'll have to miss the Buckeyes game tomorrow.

Every year when I look at what I feel is a great Buckeyes team, I try and look for that ONE game that you'll lose that you have no business losing. Started doing that at the ripe old age of 12 after suffering through the loss in East Lansing in 1974. In the past 32 years, I've never been able to pinpoint THAT game, although there have been plenty.

So, with a deep breath I'll say that this could be THAT game. I would never go onto a public Buckeye forum and predict a loss, but this one isn't going to be easy. And, with ten minutes left in THIS game, bet your ass that you'll have alot of doubt about who's going to win. I hope I'm wrong and that this is a blowout, but I'll be happy as hell to just come out with a win. Peace.

I've thought the same thing all week, Woody. Maybe just the irrational recall of '74 and '98 in my mind. Zurp's stimulating opinion rightly points out the good Sparty talent can challenge any team in the country. Hopefully, our Bucks will have their hard hats on and a full lunch bucket for the game.

I would just like to remind everyone that we don't give a damn for the WHOLE state of m*ch*g*n.

I think this game will look a lot like the Iowa game. Jim Tressel knows what's at stake, and the team will show up with the appropriate amount of urgency and intensity tomorrow.

Go Bucks!

No doubt :)

This team doesn't have me worrying about having one of 'those' games this year... This isn't the Craig Kretzel "please don't lose" offense of yore - with Smith at the helm the O is confident like I don't remember seeing in some time. And the young D doesn't seem like such a liability any more does it?

I'm not saying anything that hasn't already been observed, but I just do not see this team losing this year.

I noticed that tickets are still avaliable for the game...I wonder how many are left and how many empty seats will be at the game. Hopefully we can get as many Buckeye fans filling up those seats as possible! GO BUCKS!
